Thoughts about initiating the teaching quality evaluation of postgraduate courses in face of the new century

Abstract:One of the important ways to guarantee the postgraduate education quality is to initiate the teaching quality evaluation. The authors consider the necessity of initiating teaching quality evaluation based on the sincere study about teaching evaluation systems, evaluation regimes and evaluation methods both of foreign countries and of our own. Initiating postgraduate teaching quality evaluation is the requirement of knowledge economy, the requirement of entering into the WTO and the requirement of socialist market economy. At the same time, the authors put forward four principles of evaluation (direction, feasibility, science and comparability) of teaching quality. The authors also suggest that the directions of our postgraduate teaching quality evaluation in new century shoold be legalized socialized and computerized.
