The Comparison of Scientific Outlook between China and Developed Countries under the Background of Indigenous Innovation

Abstract:This paper aims to analyze China’s scientific and technological competitiveness in the international competition areas after implementing “Medium and Long-Term Plan for the Development of Science and Technology”. Firstly this pa-per analyses the status quo of China’s technology development and the international prestige of the technology competitive-ness through the comparison between China and developed countries. Then this paper interprets the main elements to drive China’s technology competitiveness from the four perspectives:full-time equivalent,R&D investment,scientific thesis output and patent license from United States Patent and Trademark Office. The results indicate Medium and Long-Term Plan for the Development of Science and Technology (2006 ! 2020)promote China’s international technology competitive-ness. Moreover,the policy sets the firm foundation for further technological development.
