SPORTS MARKETING: ESSENCE, SPECIFICITY AND BASIC SUBJECTS

Abstract:The article examines the components of the sports industry. The markets that make up the world sports industry, such as: professional sports market, the market of sports goods, the market of sports nutrition and pharmacy, the market of gambling, as bets are placed on sports, the market of eSports, taking into account the latest technologies and achievements in the market of video games, are named in the article.
The trends and prospects of sports are considered. Scientific approaches to the definition of sports marketing have been studied. The concept of sports marketing has been developed in accordance with the extended approach of defining sports marketing.
Based on the study of approaches to the definition of sports marketing, it is concluded that sports marketing can be considered from the following positions: as a specific application of theoretical marketing principles and processes to sports products/goods and services; as the marketing of non-sports and sports-related goods and services through association; and as the marketing of sports organizations and codes, their personalities, their events, their activities, their actions, their strategies and their image.
The main aspects of sports marketing, such as: sports industry, sports product and target audience, are considered and characterized, and the specifics of sports marketing are determined.
The authors have researched the subjects of the sports organization's microenvironment, such as competitors, consumers, suppliers, intermediaries, and the contact audience. The impact of these subjects on the marketing activity of a sports organization is determined.
