Abstract:Objectine To describe the clinical, histological and immunohistochemical features of inflammatory pseudotumor (IPT) in lymph nodes . Methods One case of IPT in cervical lymph node was studied by light microscopy and immunohistochemistry. Results Microscopically, the architecture of lymph node was totally effaced by hyperplastic spindle cells, and nodular appearance was formed with sclerosing band. Partial areas had storiform pattern. Most spindle cells were positive for Vim, CD68 and Mac387, focal positive for actin and negative for CD21, S-100, ALK-1 and desmin. Lymphocytes were polyclonal, and most of them were T cell phenotype. Conclusion IPT in lymph node is a kind of special inflammatory process reacted to unknown pathogen. Surgical resection can eradicate all clinical complaints. Meanwhile IPT needs to be differentiated from a series of spindle cell tumors in lymph nodes.
