The Types of Ecotourism in China

Abstract:First, this article focuses on some important aspects of ecotourism such as the definition of concept and the implication of ecotourism. Secondly, based on above-mentioned theory and the practical situation of the development of ecotourism, as far as the types of ecotourism resource and the representative ecotourism activity in every type of ecotourism resource are concerned, the article attempts to divide the ecotourism in China into six fundamental types. They are Forest Recreation Ecotourism, Prairie Coquette Ecotourism, Wetlands Bird-watching Ecotourism, Desert Exploration Ecotourism, Countryside Experience Ecotourism and Ocean Vacation Ecotourism. And then the ecotourism value and resource situation of every type of ecotourism are appraised simply. At last, the article gives some advices to ecotourism. From now on it not only strengthens the theoretical research of ecotourism but also pays more attention to practical research of ecotourism especially to build various types of demonstration region of ecotourism.
