WebView Management Strategy Based on Access and Update History

Abstract:This paper introduces a hybrid strategy named MEDI(Materialize on accEss and upDate hIstory). MEDI constructs WebView when receives a user query and stores it in the system. Each WebView can have three statuses: A(Active),S(Sleeping) and M(Median). Each status has its own using and maintenance policy. When base data updates, WebView transfers among these statuses based on its access and update history. According to the experimental data, MEDI is scaleable and adaptive to the Web environment that has high access frequency and high update frequency. Experimental data also shows that MEDI has better performance than virtual policy and materialized policy. ;;;
