Clinical and Radiographic Features of the Delayed Traumatic Intracranial Hematoma in 113 Patients

Abstract:Objective;To summarize and analyse clinical features and radiographic characteristics of the delayed traumatic intracranial hematoma. Methods: Clinical data of 113 patients admitted to our hospital from January 1995 to march 2003 with delayed traumatic intracranial hematoma were analyzed retrospectively. Results:Of the 1574 patients with head injury admitted to our hospital in the same period,there were 113 patients with delayed traumatic intracraial hematoma. 18 cases got good recovery(15. 9%);29 cases moderate disability (25. 7%), 25 cases severe disability (22. 1%),17 cases vegetative (15. 1%) and 24 cases died (21. 2% ). Conclusion: Prognoses of patients with delayed traumatic intracranial hematoma could be good by early discovery and operation based on typical clinical features and radiographic characteristics.
