Abstract:To manage knowledge effectively between magnetic properties and alloy composite, and predict trend precisely, a magnetic design method based ANN (artificial neural network) is presented. And on basis of this method a design system of expert is realized. Firstly, basic data from magnetic properties and alloy composite is managed effectively. Then ANN is trained completely by original product data, through which deduction from properties to alloy composite could be easily. Experimental results show trend predication from expert system is high accuracy. After the implementation, the system improves the development speed of new products and the market competitiveness of enterprises.

Abstract:In this paper, an adaptive fuzzy-neural network has been introduced to simulate the constitutive relation model between the process parameters and target functions with unknown models, and it is of advantages that fuzzy rules and membership functions can be optimally adjusted automatically. Meanwhile,the paper illuminates the concrete methods to apply fuzzy-neural network technique to the field of material processing, and presents feasible resolvents for the troubles suffered during the establishment of the fuzzy-neural network.

Abstract:The paper introduces the knowledge of Artificial Neural Network(ANN).Modeling,training of ANN are recommended detailedly via using artificial neural networks in the surface roughness research.Results show that ANN can adapt itself to all kind of work conditions and has higher flexibility and aptitude.At the same time,it can reflect more exactly the varying relations between each process factor.Moreover,the method can be extended into other fields to deal with blurry,non-linear problems.

Abstract:Artificial neural network is used to deul with systematical modeling of metallurgical process,and the process frame and method of artificial neural network modeling are analysed and built due to its excellent ability to deal with mechanical complexity.On the basis of using network model to simuate actual system,3 types of tactics for process parameter optimization are descibed in detail.The models have been applied in practical production.The results show that the predicted results are in agreement with the practical data.

Abstract:Artificial neural networks are an effective and frequently used modelling method in regression and classification tasks in the area of steels and metal alloys. New publications show examples of the use of artificial neural networks in this area, which appear regularly. The paper presents an overview of these publications. Attention was paid to critical issues related to the design of artificial neural networks. There have been presented our suggestions regarding the individual stages of creating and evaluating neural models. Among other things, attention was paid to the vital role of the dataset, which is used to train and test the neural network and its relationship to the artificial neural network topology. Examples of approaches to designing neural networks by other researchers in this area are presented.

Abstract:In materials science, performance prediction of materials plays an important role in improving the quality of materials as well as preventing serious damage to the environment and threat to public safety. Traditional regression analysis models in materials science are not yet perfect, limited to capture nonlinearities of data and time-consumption for prediction, and have a poor ability to handle a large amount of data. This leads to a demand for analyses of materials data using novel computer science methods. In recent years, artificial neural networks (ANNs) are increasingly performing as a strong tool to establish the relationships among data and being successfully applied in materials science due to their generalization ability, noise tolerance and fault tolerance. In this paper, some typical ANN applications for predicting various properties (corrosion, structural, tribological and so on) of different materials serving multiple environments (atmosphere, stress, weld and so on) are reviewed. It highlights the significance of ANN in materials-related problems in separate sections arranged by the level of simplicity, ranging from simple ANN models alone to more complicated ANN models along with the hybrid use of other computing and input-ranking methods, and the trend of ANN in the context of materials science with some limitations.

Abstract:Abstract In recent years, interdisciplinary research has become increasingly popular within the scientific community. The fields of materials science and chemistry have also gradually begun to apply the machine learning technology developed by scientists from computer science. Graph neural networks (GNNs) are new machine learning models with powerful feature extraction, relationship inference, and compositional generalization capabilities. These advantages drive researchers to design computational models to accelerate material property prediction and new materials design, dramatically reducing the cost of traditional experimental methods. This review focuses on the principles and applications of the GNNs. The basic concepts and advantages of the GNNs are first introduced and compared to the traditional machine learning and neural networks. Then, the principles and highlights of seven classic GNN models, namely crystal graph convolutional neural networks, iCGCNN, Orbital Graph Convolutional Neural Network, MatErials Graph Network, Global Attention mechanism with Graph Neural Network, Atomistic Line Graph Neural Network, and BonDNet are discussed. Their connections and differences are also summarized. Finally, insights and prospects are provided for the rapid development of GNNs in materials science at the atomic scale.

Abstract:Artificial Neural Network(ANN) was used to design multiphase engineering ceramic materials. The simulation system with double-direction predicting function has been developed based on Delphi language. The system can be used for making all kinds of materials with computer aided design by linking different databases. It has also been validated to have high precision and reliability, the maximal single part predicting error is 4.8%.

Abstract:Artificial neural networks are parameterized nonlinear models used for empirical regression and classification modelling. Their flexibility enables them to discover very complex relationships among large number of variables with complex interdependencies. Hence it is a very appropriate technique for developing predictive models in the short term. This article discusses the development of neural network models based on a Bayesian framework and some applications of the same. These examples include: (i) prediction of yield and tensile strengths of hot-rolled low-carbon ferrite-pearlite steel plates as a function of composition and rolling parameters, (ii) estimation of bainite plate thickness, (iii) estimation of retained austenite as a function of process parameters in Transformation Induced Plasticity aided (TRIP-aided) steels, and (iv) analysis of strain-induced transformation behavior of retained austenite during uniaxial tensile testing of TRIP-aided steels. While examples (i), (ii), and (iv) provide an overview of the work reported earlier, example (iii) is reported here in open literature for the first time. In all these four cases, it has been shown that the results are consistent with the established physical metallurgy principles.

Abstract:Artificial intelligence (AI) has been referred to as the "fourth paradigm of science," and as part of a coherent toolbox of data‐driven approaches, machine learning (ML) dramatically accelerates the computational discoveries. As the machinery for ML algorithms matures, significant advances have been made not only by the mainstream AI researchers, but also those work in computational materials science. The number of ML and artificial neural network (ANN) applications in the computational materials science is growing at an astounding rate. This perspective briefly reviews the state‐of‐the‐art progress in some supervised and unsupervised methods with their respective applications. The characteristics of primary ML and ANN algorithms are first described. Then, the most critical applications of AI in computational materials science such as empirical interatomic potential development, ML‐based potential, property predictions, and molecular discoveries using generative adversarial networks (GAN) are comprehensively reviewed. The central ideas underlying these ML applications are discussed, and future directions for integrating ML with computational materials science are given. Abstract:We apply an artificial neural network to model and verify material properties. The neural network algorithm has a unique capability to handle incomplete data sets in both training and predicting, so it can regard properties as inputs allowing it to exploit both composition-property and property-property correlations to enhance the quality of predictions, and can also handle a graphical data as a single entity. The framework is tested with different validation schemes, and then applied to materials case studies of alloys and polymers. The algorithm found twenty errors in a commercial materials database that were confirmed against primary data sources.
