Abstract:The paper develops an autonomous navigation system with Visual C++ 6.0, combining all-terrain and all-weather mobile robot platform with the high-precision dual-frequency RTK-GPS. The intelligent mobile robot achieves autonomous navigation control. Owing to the four-wheel drive, path tracking is better implemented; Owing to the use of high-precision GPS, position locating is more accurate; Owing to the multithreaded design of the program, real-time requirements of the navigation is better achieved; By the way of map matching of GIS, the path tracking is real-time and the navigation of the robot is more visual and intuitive. The result of experiment shows that this navigation system can meet the requirements of accuracy and real-time and complete the navigation task very well.

Abstract:In order to improve the information level of tourism industry,a design and an implementation on an intelligent tourist guide system based on Android operation system were presented.Firstly the architecture of Android system was introduced.Also the structure of the touristguide system platform was studied and the hardware of the platform and the module design were proposed.Based on this,the application software was developed by Android SDK 2.1,which was consisted of three modules:management of tourists information,multimedia applications and Web maps.The realization of functionality and interface of every module was analyzed in details.The testing results show that the system is easy to use and has agood scalability and maintainability.

Abstract:The combination of the smart phone and the Internet service is the trend of the future information development and software applications. Mobile phones are the most commonly used communication tools. Using mobile phones to obtain information is not only quick, but also more convenient shortcut to improve people's lives. In the paper, we propose the software development architecture based on Web services. This framework introduces the three-layer architecture of Web development into mobile phone software development. Based on the three-layer architecture, the android based city tour guide system is developed. The android based city guide system can realize to query information for hotel, scenery, restaurant, traffic and so on. The android based city guide system has more practical significance.

Abstract:Car tourism systems are becoming popular nowadays, which are actually kinds of information services. This paper presents a context-aware information service system for car touring, named ScudMobile, which addresses some deficiencies of current tourist systems. It has three main features 1) ontology-based knowledge representation makes it easier to share context and information among terminals and servers; 2) Because of information pre-fetch strategy, ScudMobile will not restricted by infrastructure and be a good complement to current systems. 3) it is totally context-aware. The gathering, representation and presentation of information are completely according to both user context and device context.

Abstract:Location Based Service (LBS) provides the right crowd with the right position information at the right time and place, which is applied widely to the mobile guide system. This paper proposes a solution of mobile guide system for the smart phones with receiving GPS, which is composed of mobile terminal layer、Web layer、LBS layer and data layer. In the solution, the smart phone sends its current coordinates to the servers, the servers provide the Location Based Service to it. The experiment shows that the solution is viable and effective.

Abstract:This paper discussed a software design of the onboard navigation system,using GPRS technology.The architecture and working theory of this system is introduced in details,focusing on the design of software stacks such as TCP/IP,PPP and etc,on the ARM embedded hardware system.Using GPRS(General Packet Radio Service) permanent on-line,the correspondence speed higher superiority,the system realized the monitoring center and the vehicle carries between the terminal the information real-time alternately.The validity and stability of the system have been justified in practical applications.

Abstract:This paper reports on progress towards the development of a personal guidance system for a blind navigator. The system is being developed in light of the unique problems facing the blind traveller, which are discussed first. The system consists of four modules: a locator unit, a detailed spatial database, an algorithm for path selection and a user interface. Suggestions are offered for alternative ways of handling the locator problem using a global positioning system or a database query system. The nature of the geographic information system (GIS) to be used as a host for the database is discussed, followed by brief statement of the criteria for choosing an algorithm for path selection and suggestions on types of user interfaces best suited to the system. A report on a pilot-study GIS is presented. Special problems of database and system design are highlighted.

Abstract:The hardware-based physical electronic tour guide device is inconvenient to use and difficult to maintain, and the rental price of scenic equipment is not easily acceptable to tourists. It is limited by hardware installation and not easily upgradable. Its alternative product, the general navigation software currently available on the market, suffers from issues such as incomplete information about remote locations, inability to provide specialized services for specific scenic areas, and integration problems with existing systems. To address the aforementioned drawbacks, a comprehensive solution based on the smartphone platform + backend services is proposed for a certain tourist attraction’s area. This solution provides specific implementations of "smart tourism," including location services, real-time navigation, attraction search, tour grouping, route planning, route recommendation, and convenient services. An easy-to-use and flexible frontend application App is designed for this purpose. Additionally, cloud service technology is combined with layered backend service design, linking traditional tourism business in scenic areas with daily carry-on smart devices. A convergence layer is designed to manage and distribute various layered interface information through message queues, thereby ensuring the operational efficiency, maintenance, and scalability of the system architecture are greatly guaranteed. The effectiveness and practical operational effects of the system are verified through specific engineering practices.

Abstract:Mobile navigation system based on handheld device can not only provide basic GIS services, but also enable these GIS services to be provided without location limit, to be more instantly interacted between users and devices. However, we still see that most navigation systems have common defects on user experience like limited map format, few map resources, and unable location share. To overcome the above defects, we propose DIY-style GIS service which provide users a more free software environment and allow uses to customize their GIS services. These services include defining geographical coordinate system of maps which helps to hugely enlarge the map source, editing vector feature, related property information and hotlink images, customizing covered area of download map via General Packet Radio Service (GPRS), and sharing users' location information via SMS (Short Message Service) which establishes the communication between users who needs GIS services. The paper introduces the integration of web and wireless GIS service in a mobile navigation system and presents an implementation sample of a DIY-Style GIS service in a mobile navigation system.

Abstract:The characteristics of LBS information terminal is analyzed,and in allusion to its disadvantages,a solution concerning the design of mobile information terminal is proposed.It is based on the combination of network and independent navigation,and the thought of storing map data in advance and downloading increment in real time,with the purpose of providing a hardware supporting platform for the research of LBS on the application tier.The main functions of the terminal are introduced and much emphasis is given on the software and hardware design of the terminal.A prototype system is achieved based on the terminal.
