Abstract:Aim To study the pathogenicity of Shigella dysenteriae L forms Methods Convert S dysenteriae into stable L-forms C57BL/6 mice were infected through gastric tubes and state of illness were observed Animals were examined for pathological changes and L-forms isolation after death The experiment was divided into 3 groups:Group A was infected with S dysenteriae original forms,group B with L-forms and group C injected with normal saline Result Pathological changed with systemic intoxication were mainly found in group A and B With no sign of diarrhea The changes were weaker and developed slower in group B than in group A,but the difference was not significant Corresponding pathogens were isolated from each group Conclusion S dysenteriae L-forms are still pathogenic,but much weaker than their original forms
