Research on the Correlation among Expression Rates of CD44s,CD44V5 and CD44V6 in Peripheral Blood Cells of Patients with Colorectal Carcinoma

Abstract:Objective To investigate the correlation of expression levels between CD 44s +,CD 44V 5 + as well as CD 44V 6 + cells in peripheral blood and tumor metastasis,prognosis of patients with colorectal carcinoma.Methods The expression rates of CD 44s +,CD 44V 5 + and CD 44V 6 + in peripheral blood cells from 62 patients with colorectal carcinoma were measured by the flow cytometry.The correlations of expression rates between CD 44s+ cells and CD 44V 5 + cells or between CD 44s + cells and CD 44V 6 + cells were analyzed.Results CD 44V 5 + and CD 44V 6+ cells percentages of patients with colorectal carcinoma were significantly higher,while CD 44s + cells percentage was marked lower,P0.05,than those of normal control,P0.01.CD 44V 5 + cells and CD 44V 6 + cells percentages of patients with tumor metastases were significantly higher than those of patients without tumor metastases,P0.01,while CD 44s + cells percentage was remarkable lower,P0.05.The correlationanalysis showed that CD 44s + cells expression rate was negatively correlated to CD 44V 5 + cells and CD 44V 6 + cells percentages,r 1=-0.84,P 10.05;r 2=-0.87,P 20.01.Conclusions CD 44V 5 + and CD 44V 6 + expressions of patients with colorectal carcinoma are closely related to tumor metastases,so the detection of CD 44 splicing variants expression rates and their transforming features can provide significant evidences for the development and prognosis of colorectal carcinoma.
