Abstract:Product Structure Management is the core of both ERP system and PDM system and is necessary and important to manufacturing information engineering. A PSM system example aimed at practical project has been developed in the paper to present its function and key technology of developing. This system realized its integration between I-DEAS and MRPII besides other conventional molding functions such as creating and modifying BOM, product file demanding and product structure multi-view management.

Abstract:Abstrcat The problem of deterioration items is rarely considered in existing MRP(Material Requierment Planning)ordering methods. Thus, based on the paper (published in Computer Industrial Engineering, 36, 219—225, 1999) by Wee, this paper proposes a programming model in which varying deterioration rate and initial inventory levels are involved according to MRP characteristics. Then a corresponding heuristic algorithm is given. At the end of this paper, two numerical examples are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed model.

Abstract:As the profits of manufacturing enterprises come under ever increasing pressure, the transformation of the enterprise development mode becomes urgent. The implementation of modern manufacturing services (MMS) helps to improve an enterprise's profits and enhance its competitiveness and has become one of the best ways to transform and upgrade enterprises. The implementation of MMS needs a methodology to guide evaluation of an enterprise's current service development phase and level. In this article, first a universal Enterprise Manufacturing Service Maturity Model (EMSMM) was proposed, which contains four service phases and two service levels. Second, a building methodology for the EMSMM for a specific industry was put forward. Third, an evaluation methodology for enterprise MMS phases and levels was provided. Finally, the adoption of these methods by a Chinese manufacturing enterprise was described. The results show that the EMSMM can provide effective scientific decision-making for an enterprise's current service development phase and level.

Abstract:High-end equipment with robust and excellent performance is of great significance to manufacturing automation systems. Product parameters are the foundation of performance. Usually, there is a lack of clear physical models to reveal the relationship between parameters and performance. Simulation is an important way to understand the design results of product performance parameters. However, simulations are often particularly time and resource-consuming. To address these issues, this work proposes a data-mechanism-driven product performance optimization method, which introduces Taguchi' method, nonparametric correlation testing, and multiple attribute decision making (MADM), to efficiently obtain the optimal parameter scheme. A novel MADM method is designed, which is combined with the Multi-Objective Optimization on the basis of a Ratio Analysis plus the full MULTIplicative form (MULTIMOORA) and the Variable Neighborhood Search. It has been proven that it performs better than the MULTIMOORA based on the well-known Simulated Annealing and Tabu search. Finally, taking the cutting unit of EBZ200i as a case study, we have successfully obtained the optimal parameter scheme that comprehensively performs better in terms of wear performance, robustness, and environmental economic performance.

Abstract:This paper proposes a novel opportunistic preventive maintenance (PM) scheduling methodology for the serial parallel multistage manufacturing systems (SP-MMSs), where PM is performed to improve both the reliability and product quality. A SP-MMS has two essential characteristics: (i) the products can go through different process routes; (ii) the deterioration of a machine will not only affect the key product characteristics (KPCs) formed at the current stage but also propagate to downstream stages and then affect the KPCs formed there. Consequently, the propagation of machine deterioration along different routes will generate multiple streams of deterioration. This phenomenon is mathematically modeled to evaluate the quality of final products. The PM scheduling is based on the modeling of total maintenance cost including minimal repair cost, quality loss and PM-related costs. Firstly, a tentative PM schedule is made for each individual machine by minimizing the corresponding total maintenance cost. Secondly, the tentative PM schedules of all machines are further adjusted to obtain the optimal PM schedule for the system by jointly considering the economic dependence and control of final product quality. A case study shows that the methodology can ensure reasonably high reliability and final product quality for the system with a low total maintenance cost. (C) 2017 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

Process scheme robustness is the core of the "Method" in 5M1E (Man, Machine, Material, Method, Measurement, and Environment), which is the foundation of manufacturing quality and reliability assurance. However, previous studies frequently overlooked the significant impact of the coupling between the process scheme and process parameter robustness on the formation and degradation of mission reliability. Therefore, a novel method for modeling mission reliability in a multistate manufacturing system is proposed. This method is based on an extended RQR chain (manufacturing system Reliability, operational process Quality, and the produced product Reliability) while considering process scheme robustness. First, the connotation of process scheme robustness and mission reliability in multistate manufacturing systems is described. Second, an extended RQR chain (ERQR chain) model is established, which considers the influence of process scheme robustness on the high-quality operation of the manufacturing system. Third, based on the established ERQR chain model, an integrated mission reliability model considering process scheme robustness for multistate manufacturing systems is established. Specifically, the process scheme robustness is evaluated from three perspectives: manufacturing cost, operation time, and product qualification rate. Finally, a hydraulic pump is used as an example to verify the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

Abstract:The ability to produce multiple types of products using the same manufacturing system plays an essential role in the success of a manufacturing enterprise. Meanwhile, most complex manufacturing systems include many stages, called multistage manufacturing systems (MMSs). MMS has a cascade property, which means the product quality is not only affected by the current stage, but is also related to the outputs of the upstream stage. Multiproduct MMSs (M(3)Ss) have been widely applied in industry. Thus, this paper is devoted to modeling and analyzing steady-state M(3)Ss for quality improvement. The discrete Markov model for single-product-multistage system is extended to novel Markov models for multiproduct-two-stage systems and multiproduct-multistage systems by calculating state transition probabilities of six key manufacturing parameters to obtain an acceptable product quality probability. Based on the developed models, product sequence analysis is carried out to obtain the best product sequence under Bernoulli conditions and Bernoulli relaxation conditions, and bottleneck analysis under Bernoulli conditions is conducted to identify the machine and/or parameters whose improvement can lead to the largest quality improvement. The applicability of the proposed models is validated through numerical experiments and a case study using real-world data.

Abstract:The BOM(bill of material)is a basic form of data exchanging between different departˉments of a company and between upper and lower processes in PDM/ERP system.Due to the overlap of the management functions in PDM and ERP systems,the data exchange of PDM/ERP may cause inconsistency between multiple BOM and single BOM.It is more serious in the PDM/ERP system for injection moulds.To resolve the problem,an effective method of maintaining BOM consistency based on the reflection table and comprehensive chained list is presented.

Abstract:This paper evaluates alternative methods of establishing the safety stock level taking into consideration of historical measures of forecasting accuracy and the needs for master production scheduling and material requirement planning under a rolling time horizon. A computer model is used to simulate the forecasting, master production scheduling and material planning activities in a company that produces to stock and the production activities are managed by multilevel MRP systems. The simulation output is analysed to evaluate the impact of safety stock methods on MRP system performance. The result of the study shows that using safety stock can help to reduce total cost, schedule instability and improve service level in the MRP systems. Guidelines are developed to help managers select methods to determine safety stock in MRP system operations.

Abstract:This paper classifies the MRO information resources from source dimension and analyzes the way of the MRO information's organization firstly. By means of analyzing the characteristic of different type of equipment data from four angles, the paper proposes and discusses the compound MROBOM made up of Neutral Structure, Position Structure and Physical Structure. Then through quantitatively comparing compound MROBOM with single-tree MROBOM, the paper points out that the vast data redundancy and severe data inconsistency are brought about by the metadata redundancy if MROBOM adopts the single-tree structure. Finally the paper concludes that the compound MROBOM can significantly reduce data redundancy and enhance data consistency compared with the single-tree MROBOM. © 2009 IEEE.

Abstract:Modern manufacturing systems usually adopt multi-stage and multi-product production mode.When changing product type,due to the adjustment of fixture and craft,system goes through a transient phase.The phase can be long or short depending on parameters of the system,and affect the rate of qualified products seriously.There are many mature analysis methods and successful cases about steady-state,but lacking transient phase models which connect product quality and parameters of a system.In this paper,we focus on transient analysis of Markovian model of manufacturing systems.The transient phase of manufacturing system and the relevance of processing steps are analyzed,and a Markovian model of multistage manufacturing systems in transient phase is developed and some analysis is carried out for quality bottleneck parameters identification.The effectiveness of this model is validated by multistage manufacturing system of astronautic valve used in a domestic rocket manufacturing company.

Abstract:From the basis on the ubiquitous deformity of basic data in discrete manufacturer implementing ERP,technical statistics and relevant research for key data of capacity requirements planning are made. New function is discussed to add new set-up about lead-time statistics in MRP-Ⅱ.By means of analyzed status data of equipment from shop floor management system, not only is the statistical value applied instead of formerly static cycle time, but also actual utilization of work center acts as the gist for production capacity evaluation of next stage. Hence it can improve the capacity management flow in MRP-Ⅱ.Furthermore, throughput diagramis used as the analytical measure to provide the feasible solution for the limited capacity planning which can be dynamically adjustedin enterprises.

Abstract:The robust problem of age replacement models in maintenance management is discussed in this paper. The characters of optimal solutions of age replacement models, with cost and availability objects, are presented. A new algorithm based on Newton method is established to calculate the optimal maintenance interval and cost rate. Comparing with the TTT (Total Time on Test) plot method, much faster calculation and better accuracy were achieved. Some values of a parameter are fixed to investigate the variation of optimal maintenance interval and costs when changing the values of the other parameters. The Weibull distribution is used as the typical distribution of products life time, and 3D and 2D plots are used to show the parameter sensitivity. By the sensitivity analysis, it is found that the age replacement strategy is usually robust when all the parameters values are great enough.

Abstract:To facilitate sustainability by extending the life-cycle and residual value of production materials, a collaborate scheduling scheme for closed-loop manufacturing system with disturbance uncertainty is studied. Based on the features of the closed-loop manufacturing system under multi-product and multi-period scenarios, a mixed-integer linear optimization model is developed, where manufacturing and remanufacturing units are coordinated by recycling the production materials from work-in-process and final products. Based on this, a novel closed-loop manufacturing-remanufacturing scheduling framework is proposed. Additionally, in response to variations in product quality and processing capabilities, a scenario-based chance-constrained programming is introduced to address potential sources of uncertainty. Subsequently, a sequential optimization method is devised to reduce computational complexity. Finally, an industrial case from the electronic factory is investigated to demonstrate its applicability by implementing the proposed approach with comparison to several other strategies.

Abstract:During the abnormal operations before breakdown of a multistate manufacturing system, product quality loss could systematically characterise the affected economic cost in advance. However, few studies have considering the valuable quality loss data, thus, a novel risk-oriented optimisation approach of integrated maintenance is proposed considering the quality loss of work-in-process (WIP) obtained from the manufacturing system. First, the functional risks in manufacturing systems are expounded and classified by detectable deviations and potential manufacturing defects of the finished product based on machine performance state, and product quality loss is therefore applied for preventive maintenance activities. Second, the degradation path of machine performance and its effect on WIP are clarified. Explicit risk is presented by dimensional deviations of key quality characteristics, whereas implicit risk is quantified by the influence of component- and system-level manufacturing defects on the early product usage phase. Third, different levels of maintenance actions are proposed, and the integrated preventive maintenance plan for the entire production horizon is obtained by minimising product quality loss and PM investments. The optimal decision combination is solved by genetic algorithm. Finally, the optimal maintenance strategy is presented to verify the superiority of this method through the analysis of a cylinder head manufacturing system.

Relationship research between maturity factors and performance indexes in software R&D project

Abstract:With the development of information technology and software industry, software development inclined to production of scale, criterion and industrialization. Different kinds of Project Maturity Models for enhancing performances of software development were broadly exploited and used factually. Based on literature review and enterprise research this paper put forward 47 factors which cover in three aspects of technology, organization and personnel. At the same time, the author classified the software development performance estimation indexes into four geniuses: quality, satisfaction, knowledge, controlling and effect index. Recurring to large-scale questionnaire research, the author also applied SPSS statistic instrument consisted of gene analysis, correlation analysis and regression analysis to analyze the relationship between maturity factors and performance indexes and discussed the results, which indicated close connections between the project performance and different maturity factors affected the project performance to a certain extent. Finally, the author concluded the research results and made suggestions for the enterprises to enhance the software development project maturity.

Abstract:This paper draws on systems engineering modeling and evolutionary of technology,from the perspective of sys-tems theory and organizational theory to establish the reliability data management model of large science projects.We elabo-rate the main content and features of the reliability data management model by object-dimension,view-dimensional and stage-dimensional.According to this,we propose analytical method of maturity curve in management model and analyze the reliability data management of large science projects cross-device differences by S evolution curve.Finally,the model is verified in SG Series device construction and achieves the standardization and efficiency improvement in reliability engi-neering management.

Abstract:To fully consider the influence of factors such as funds and the decision-making ability of managers on the project performance, we combine the Data Envelopment Analysis approach and the Project Management Maturity Model in this paper to evaluate the relative performances of different projects in a corporation. Application results show that our approach is very efficient for optimally distributing resources of the corporation and enhancing the total peformance.
