Abstract:Influences of salicylic acid(SA)on the contents of endogenous hormones and osmotic adjustment substances in the seedling leaves of Pennisetum glaucum cv.Purple Majesty were studied under drought and/or high temperature conditions.Under drought or high temperature conditions or both,the contents of soluble protein,soluble sugar and IAA in the leaves declined while Pro,ABA and JA in them increased. SA pretreatments decreased the contents of Pro,ABA and JA in the leaves under drought and/or high temperature and increased the contents of soluble protein,soluble sugar and IAA in them.The above results indicated that SA treatment can increase the resistance of Purple Majesty plants in drought and/or high temperature and help their growth and survival under stress.
