Abstract:Based on the development of demulsification processes, a study on microfiltration membrane demulsification was carried out with H2O/n-butanol, H2O/kerosene and H2O/30% tributylphosphate(in kerosene) as the working systems. The influences of the transmembrane pressure, the emulsion properties, and the membrane pore size on the demulsification process were studied. The experimental results show that the membrane demulsification process is a kind of newly developing technology with the advantages of lower energy cost, higher effciency and generalization. With an increase of the transmembrane pressure, the flux is increased. However the oil content in the permeate heavy phase is also increased. The increase of the membrane pore size will cause the increase of the flux and oil content in the permeate heavy phase. But the oil content in the permeate heavy phase can be controlled by the transmembrane pressure.
