Abstract:To explore the effects and mechanism of Tibetan medicine Liuwei Muxiang pills on pylorus ligated gastric ulcer and drug gastric ulcer in rats,the pylorus ligated gastric ulcer model and drug gastric ulcer model were set up,and ulcer index,p H value of gastric juice,total acid of gastric juice and pepsin activity were measured. The results showed that Liuwei Muxiang pills could obviously or partly lower the ulcer index of gastric ulcer caused by indomethacin and ylori-ligation,also could obviously or partly reduce the secretion of gastric juice caused by pylori-ligation,and raise p H value of gastric juice,lower total gastric acid( P 0. 05 or P 0. 01),suggesting that Liuwei Muxiang could inhibit the secretion of gastric acid and have alkalizing effect on p H of gastric juice( P 0. 05 or P 0. 01),but no significant effect on pepsin secretion( P 0. 05). All results indicated that Liuwei Muxiang pills had certain protection effect on experimental gastric ulcer of rats.
