Abstract:In recent years,Chinese universities made a big step in construction of Web-based courses.However,such problems as gap between theory and practice were quite obvious in Chinese practice of Web-based course design.This study aims to use a case study to explore the key factors that characterize high quality Web-based course.The selected course,named <Advanced Methods in Distance Education>,was taught by Dr.Dooley,who is from Texas A&M University.Characteristic analysis of the course found that such key aspects as management platform,instructional design,interaction design,performance assessment,and learning support contribute to its success.

Abstract:Owing to the development of web technology,a majority of universities have set up their own campus networks.As a result,courseware based on internet environment begins to see a wider application in classroom teaching.This web based CAI multimedia courseware,a combination of multimedia courseware design and web technology,is due to be a leading trend in the future.In this paper,we have compared the former solo version courseware with the web based ones and examined the design of CAI courseware,hoping to supply some ideas for the rational application of web based CAI courseware.

Abstract:This paper analyzes current problems about distance education and the necessity of adopting standardized coursewares. We also compare some international standards on courseware. Then we discuss the AICC-based distance education management system TH-CMI. The standardized coursewares make the distance education management system and courseware independent each other. Abstract:MCAI courseware based on Internet is a trend of the teaching mode in higher education. The design and development of the courseware based on Internet for Data Structure is very important since it is a basic specialty course in computer and related fields. In this paper,the method of design and development for MCAI courseware based on Internet is discussed, and introduce in detail the organizing and writing of script, representing of content, visualizing of algorithms, etc. This courseware involves many multi-media forms, such as text, graphics, image, voice, animation and video, and provides a lively and really teaching environment by using Web design tools, multi-media producing software, and network database technique. Therefore, it achieves a very nice effect in real teaching.

Abstract:The current situation of web-based distance learning in China is introduced,and then the problems which generally exist in the integration work of current distance learning systems and the subsystems within them are analyzed.After that,the concept and architecture of Web Service are illustrated,based on which a concrete integration model of distance learning system is given.Furthermore,by the example of Instruction Management System,the development process and method of system integration are described from the development workflow view and user access view respectively.Finally,the future research issues on distance learning system integration based on Web Service are summarized.

Abstract:This paper described a distance learning system, which allows Internet users to conduct a lesson in real-time from any kinds- attached computers. Participants can jointly view and edit relevant multimedia information distributed through Internet. Teachers and students can also simultaneously communicate by voice and text to discuss the problems. Teacher can broadcast streaming PowerPoint presentation in real time to network users. In addition to sliders, presenters can broadcast video and audio simultaneously to deliver a live multimedia show online, and store their presentations for on-demand playback. Teachers distributed in different places can also use cooperative editing tool to edit and encode existing digital content. We discussed some important design principles of the system. Then, the system configuration and the results of evaluation are also presented. The system has proved to be applicable to the distance learning based on CSCW (Computer Support Cooperative Work) in Internet.

Abstract:In order to improve the effect and satisfaction of distance education, an intelligent education distance assistance system based on web is designed. Based on the application development structure of C/S, clarify the overall structure of intelligent education distance assistance system. The hardware part is optimized from four aspects: interface layer, business layer, data layer and distance education auxiliary system management module. The software part optimizes the courseware learning process on the basis of considering the students' personal ability, and uses the collaborative filtering algorithm to recommend the distance auxiliary teaching resources of intelligent education. Thus, the remote assistance of intelligent education is completed. The experiment part is tested from the aspects of remote connection, response ability, web network interruption probability and F1 value. The experimental results show that the remote connection performance of the designed system is good, and all functions can respond normally and quickly; It can improve the effect of distance education and has high user satisfaction.
