Anal Ysis of the Scattering Characteristics of Electric-Large-Size Waveguide Structures with an Efficient Direct Finite Element Method

Abstract:An alternative direct finite element method is presented for analysis of the scattering characteristics of the electric large size structure in this paper. Based on the property of the finite element method that the divided domain can be composed of several modules, the present method makes use of the two properties of module: recycling and hierarchy smartly to speed up the analysis. Compared with the traditional method-sparse storing combined with preconditioned conjugate gradient (PCG) method, the computing time needed in the present analysis is only as 1/10 as that in the mentioned method, while the memory requirement is also decreased to some extent.
