Abstract:Objective To investigate the relationship between school bullying and self-perceived classroom climate among high grade students of migrant elementary school. Methods The current bullying experience, classroom climate, age, gender and parental education levels were asked by questionnaires allocated to 4 089 students and 3 964 parents of 4th grade from 23 migrant elementary schools in Shanghai,4 migrant elementary schools in Beijing and 7 migrant elementary schools in Guangzhou by random cluster sampling method. Results About 19. 9% of the students reported having been involved in school bullying currently. The girl students reported better( 11. 92 ± 2. 04) than the boys( 11. 50 ± 2. 20)( t =- 5. 60,P 0. 01). Students who were not involved in school bullying felt classroom climate best, students who were bullied by others and bullied others at the same time felt the classroom climate worst. Classroom climate( teacher interpersonal climate, peer interpersonal climate and classroom structure) were independent factors of school bullying, the difference was of great significance( P 0. 01). Conclusion There are close association between self-perceived classroom climate and school bullying. Targeted interventions aimed at improving classroom climate should be adopted to reduce school bullying behavior.
