Influential factors affecting the occurrence and complications of colonic perforation induced by electronic colonoscopy and treatment strategy

Abstract:Objective To investigate influential factors affecting the occurrence and complications of colonic perforation in -duced by electronic colonoscopy and treatment strategy .Methods There were 3 651 case times that received electronic colonoscopy in our hospital from December 2003 to December 2013, and retrospective analysis was made on the 4 cases that had perforation of digestive tract induced by colonoscopy .Results Four cases of colonic perforations , of which 3 were diagnostic perforations , one was therapeutic perforation.Three cases were detected with painless colonoscopy , and one case with conventional colonoscopy .Three cases were in the sigmoid and 1 case in the ileocecum .Conclusion In the diagnostic and treatment colonoscopy , perforation with complication was not rare.The results of the treatment depended on the patients′age, the intestinal diseases and the seriousness of infection after perforation . Treatment for the disorder could be conservative management .
