Abstract:After the C4ISR system is delivered to the user, it is inspected during the equipment support maintenance process that the equipment has low generality, weak automation, and difficult maintenance. This paper proposes the C4ISR system embedded and monitoring test technology, designed componentization, standardization, Integrated embedded and monitoring test environment system architecture, including system usage patterns and logical structures; detailed description of key technologies such as XML (Extensible Markup Language) interface model adaptive technology, component-based system efficient and flexible integration technology and memory-based database data interaction technology; and an embedded and monitoring environment case and system application flow of a C4ISR system, including embedded test process and monitoring test process. The test environment has been successfully applied in many projects, which can realize the recurrence, positioning, confirmation and verification of interface and process problems encountered in the C4ISR system maintenance guarantee process.

Abstract:C4ISR system is complex system. Such systems architecture and complex needs of many. Then complex system’s capability requirements are difficult to catch. Description of capability requirements are usually imprecise and do not support architecture analysis. The paper uses an extended UML modeling technique to analyzing the requirements of C4ISR capabilities. It also introduces a new model convert domain model into the Description Logic ontology. Use Description Logic ontology description the standard DoD Architecture Framework, the proposed method may populate C4ISR architectural analysis.

Abstract:The process of research and development of C4ISR (Command, Control, Communication, Computer, Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance, C4ISR) system is a multiple cycle iterative, function continuously improved, evolution process, thus the simulation model and system supporting C4ISR system at different stages must be with multi granularity, phase correlation characteristics. The focus of this paper is how to use system simulation model and system correlation reasonably and efficiently, improve reusability and interoperability of simulation model between various simulation applications, and make the various simulation applications no longer fragmented, uncorrelated. In this paper, the modeling methods of the reuse based on the unified modeling simulation language (UMSL), the reuse based on model framework, the reuse based on component model (Library), the reuse based on general model, the reuse based on unified simulation platform is studied, the reuse modeling techniques used often or developed at present on a warship fleet C4ISR system are introduced.

Abstract:In order to achieve interconnection,intercommunication,interoperability among the C 4ISR systems of multiple arms of services, top design must be optimized, and an advanced, reasonable, unified and standard architecture must be built. After summarily introducing the America C 4ISR architecture frame work, according to the idea of top design and system project, this paper explains the design of the architecture of C 4ISR which includes the exploitative significance, the design rules,the design ideas and the technical method etc. In the rear part, the design contents about the architecture products of the C 4ISR are also given, the design method of the key products and the relationship of them are explained properly. This paper will bring the active affection to the development of the architecture of the C 4ISR and achieve the participation and the interoperability of the C 4ISR in its greatest effort.

Abstract:The capable maturity model of military communication software (MCS-CMM) is studied and developed, to overcome the use of CMM for the software engineering management of the military communication equipments for the purpose of dealing with the three key basic problems necessary to be solved. The three key problems include: (1) the application of CMM in a system of quality management built on the basis of ISO9001; (2) the use of combination of CMM in the practical use of military communication equipments; (3) the use of CMM in the small or medium enterprises and in the small or short period projects.

Abstract:Through summarizing the general features of reconfigurable architectures,a reconfigurable architecture model,e.g.hierarchical-parameterized model,was presented in order to make the algorithm mapping and design space exploration method independent on any concrete reconfigurable architecture.This generalpurpose and hierarchical model consists of 4 parts.From top to bottom they are top structure,block structure,element structure and functional structure,where each part represents a structure level.With the corresponding parameters set into the description items,this model can describe the hierarchical architecture of target system,which is crucial to performance.The proposed parameterized model was applied to two domain representative components,in which one is dynamic system and the other is static one.The results showed that both these two cases can be described with this four-level model from top to down,which shows the good extensibility and universality of this modeling method.

Abstract:Cyber-physical systems (CPSs) are integrations of information technology and physical systems, which are more and more significant in society. As a typical example of CPSs, smart grids integrate many advanced devices and information technologies to form a safer and more efficient power system. However, interconnection with the cyber network makes the system more complex, so that the robustness assessment of CPSs becomes more difficult. This paper proposes a new CPS model from a complex network perspective. We try to consider the real dynamics of cyber and physical parts and the asymmetric interdependency between them. Simulation results show that coupling with the communication network makes better robustness of power system. But since the influences between the power and communication networks are asymmetric, the system parameters play an important role to determine the robustness of the whole system.

Abstract:This paper makes the temporal extension of UML state diagram to analyze real-time characteristic for C4ISR system and models C4ISR system with the temporal extension of UML state diagram.At the same time,this paper adopts definite invert rules so as to convert the time-extended state diagram model into time Petri nets(TPN) model for C4ISR system’s temporal analysis and analyzes C4ISR system’s temporal feature with TPN’s reachable tree.A C4ISR anti-area example demonstrates that such a method is indeed feasible and practical.

Abstract:C4ISR system is a discrete dynamic system with large scale and clearly hierarchy,this paper presents the modeling and analysis method combining UML with Petri net for C4ISR system.This approach adopts a hierarchical analytical method with top-down techniques,describes the whole systemic structure and static property through extended UML model,shows systemic dynamic characteristic using extended Petri net then transforms to the correspondence state diagram and sequence diagram.New methods verify system requirement and easily realize its code.At last the approach is illustrated by its application to C4ISR system.

Abstract:C3I system increases the battle force in modern war.Evaluating C3I system impersonality and correctly is very important for finding out the limitation of C3I system.The effectiveness and capabilities system of C3I and the model of evaluating C3I system that based on rough sets are established,then the attributes,and the attribute values of this decision table are reduced,the rule is calculated through a program complied by ROSE2 software.And eventually,the attributes that have a decisive effect on C3I system come out.In the end,a method to evaluate the effectiveness and capabilities of the C3I system is introduced,and the result validates that the rough sets theory plays an available role in evaluating the effectiveness and capabilities of C3I system.

Abstract:In view of these problems such as the poor reliability of the validation environment for (CISR)-I-4 system, the difficulties of model sharing between the pilot projects, and the low development efficiency of the validation environment, and according the characteristics of multi-domain, multi-function, alternately frequent interaction and real time of (CISR)-I-4 system, we designs an open, scalable, and extensible system structure of the simulation and validation environment (S&VE). In this paper, we mainly describe some key techniques such as the combat protocol interfacing based on XML, data analysis and interacting based on memory database, and dynamic composition of business model. The paper also presents the case and operation of the S&VE. The S&VE has been applied successfully in several projects.

Abstract:Hard-and-software integrated systems such as command and control systems (C4ISR systems) are typical systems that are comprised of both software and hardware, the failures of such devices result from complicated common cause failures and common (or shared) signals that make classical reliability analysis methods will be not applicable. To this end, this paper applies the Goal-Oriented (GO) methodology to detailed analyze the reliability of a C4ISR system. The reliability as well as the failure probability of the C4ISR system, are reached based on the GO model constructed. At the component level, the reliability of units of the C4ISR system is computed. Importance analysis of failures of such a system is completed by the qualitative analysis capability of the GO model, by which critical failures of hardware failures like communication module failures and motherboard module failures as well as software failures like network module application software failures and decompression module software failures are ascertained. This method of this paper contributes to the reliability analysis of all hard-and-software integrated systems.

Abstract:In view of the present problems encountered in the command and control system, such as lack of scientific and complete indicator system for the human-computer interactive usability, absence of the relevant evaluation model, deficiency of quantitative method of results evaluation, and unavailable comprehensive and quantitative evaluation of the results from tested system, this work analyzed the influence elements of human-computer interaction for command and control system, to build the hierarchical evaluation indices systematically. Ausability evaluation model of human-computer interaction is proposed, which can be used to find the problems of unsafety and inefficiency existing in human-computer interaction of command and control system. Iterative optimization in the procedure of system development is carried out, in order to improve the human-computer interaction of command and control system.

Abstract:The disadvantages of the current architectures of the Ad hoc were analyzed. After that, an adaptive hiberarchy of the formation C 4 ISR system was given. The system based on both the plane architecture and the adaptive hiberarchy was simulated. The control spending of the two architectures were compared under the all kinds of the system scope. The simulation shows that the adaptive hiberarchy is better then the plane architecture obviously when the system scope increased.

Abstract:For the space-based information system with a large scale, a wide variety of nodes, complex connection relationships and dynamic structural changes, a multi-level system resource model is firstly established and a combined qualitative and quantitative assessment index system based on expert knowledge is proposed. Finally, a space-based information system capability assessment method is established by combining hierarchical analysis methods, and the results of calculation examples show the correctness and reasonableness of the method.

Abstract:In an operational collaborative simulation system, evaluation is always an important part to indicate validity, precision, robustness, reliability and other capabilities of the system. However, there is no generic evaluation tool accustomed to varied situations. This paper analyzes the current problem we confront, puts forward FSM (flow specific model) and FIM (flow independent model), and proposes an MDA (model driven architecture) based generic operational effectiveness evaluation framework, which is flexible and could satisfy various requirements. Finally, an evaluation platform based on the framework is introduced whose open architecture ensures that the platform can be extended conveniently to adjust itself to meet more different demands.

Abstract:To harmonize the individual architectures of the different commands, services, and agencies dealing with the development and procurement of Command, Control, Communications, Computing, Surveillance, Reconnaissance, and Intelligence (C4ISR) systems, the C4ISR Architecture Framework was developed based on existing and matured modeling techniques and methods. Within a short period, NATO adapted this method family as the NATO Consultation, Command, and Control (C3) System Architecture Framework to harmonize the efforts of the different nations. Based on these products, for every system to be fielded to be used in the US Armed Forces, a C4I Support Plan (C4ISP) has to be developed enabling the integration of the special system into the integrated C4I Architecture. The tool set proposed by these architecture frameworks connects operational views of the military user, system views of the developers, and the technical views for standards and integration methods needed to make the network centric system of systems work. The tools are therefore logically a valuable backbone for Verification, Validation, and Accreditation (VV&A). Their application is not limited to C4ISR systems; they can be used to define requirements and connected solutions and algorithms of Modeling and Simulation (M&S) systems as well. Especially for M&S systems to be used in connection with C4ISR system, the use of the C4ISR Architecture Framework would not only be a help, but can nearly be seen to be necessary to avoid double work and foster reuse and interoperability from the first stages of a project on. To enable the reader to build his own picture, the respective tools used and their application in the context of VV&A will be explained in form of an overview.
