Abstract:A stereo image collecting platform based on DSP and the Ethernet technology has been designed. The pairs of images obtained from two CMOS image sensors are transmitted to the PC through the Ethernet after processing by DSP. The double RAM structure of ping-pong buffer is used for expanding the throughput of data. This paper discusses the detailed expatiation about the principle of design and the connection of system interfaces. Finally, test result of the throughout of packets transmitted on the Ethernet is given.

Abstract:This paper introduces a Video on Demand system based on both CATV broadcasting channels and IP interactive network. CATV broadcasting channels are used for content transmission and IP network is used for control information transmission between Set Top Box and Headend Server. The control mechanism of whole system is designed and implemented according to DSM-CC protocol stacks. The paper narrates the end-to-end system diagram and VoD application software of Set Top Box. The system can be used in CATV network and provide VoD services for CATV subscribers.

Abstract:In the past few years, there has been significant progress in the communications and computer technology, which requires stable, clear video image display. On the other hand, conventional analog video processing method, due to its intrinsic limitations, can not meet the requirement of high quality and high speed operation. Meanwhile, the digital video processing technique that integrates with the computer technology is growing rapidly. In this paper, we introduce the art of FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) that has been widely used for video signal processing, and develop the video signal acquisition and processing system that based on FPGA, thereby achieve real-time video signal acquiring, processing, and transferring.

Abstract:This paper describes the design of digital video mixing system based on Philips digital video encoder SAA7199B, which can substitute the assigned color in one color component video with another color component video. Especially, the paper also describes the method of using Micro Control Unit's (MCU) I/O ports to emulate PC bus and the algorithm of using MCU to convert the color spaces (YUV and RGB).

Abstract:A flexible and dynamic videoconferencing system(FDVCS) is developed. The system aims to reduce the burden of the users under the operational environment with insufficient computational resources, such as the Internet environment with small-scale computers at homes and offices, by embedding flexibility to the conventional videoconferencing system. Moreover, FDVCS enables any more people to see and hear each other in real time. In other words, the point number of the system can be increased or decreased dynamically. The result of the experiments shows that the design is reasonable for construction of FDVCS. The system design involves many things such as the design of the hardware, the system software, and the application software, etc. This paper emphasizes on the design of the application software called MCU (Multipoint Control Unit), the design of the system control module, the design of the audio multipoint processor module, and the design of the video multipoint processor module, in such a system.

Abstract:A design method of VDM(Video Digital Mixer) based on Ethernet communication protocol was introduced,which not only superimposed characters and graphics on input video signal,but also communicated with the computer through Ethernet.The VDM equipment could provide higher communication speed and longer communication distance than the previous ones.Every set of the VDM equipment has unique IP address in the local area network,which can be recognized and parallel controlled by the computer.

Abstract:In video digital decoding system the digital video stream should be delivered to PC for software-decoding.This disquisition of- fers a transmission scheme of the digital video stream which is from the video sampling system based on FPGA.The article implements the USB transmission of the digital video with the IP cores supplied by Xilinx FPGA,embedded PowerPC 405 hardcore and the USB 2.0 control- ler CY7C67300.The paper introduces the USB firmware development and customizes the USB interface's function according to the given ap- plication.Also the article establishes a data way between PowerPC 405 and CY7C67300 which will transmit the digital video stream to the USB controller,then to PC,finally realizes the USB transmission of Digital Video Stream.

Abstract:The automatic flat knit machine which is based on embedding technology is introduced in the paper, it uses PC to deal with the user's program, produces the machining data, then embedded system downloads the machining data through internet, by this way we can make the flat knit machine work automatically. This system has a character of steady control and good real-time because it makes full use of PC and embedded system. It also can do well in the system that need control servomotor, step motor, and has a obvious superiority in the controlling system of needing quantities of digital controls.

Abstract:To keep cost low, most of the commercial color camera products for PC video conferencing employ a single CCD or CMOS imager. Usually, a mosaic color filter array is applied to the CCD or CMOS focal plane array image sensor in order to extract color information from the image through post-processing. Thus the output data of each color component is interlaced in every output line from the imager. This paper proposes a new scan- line based image compression technique for PC video conferencing. It takes the advantages of PC's advanced computation power and provides end users the capability of performing image decompression and color interpolation on demand. Without doing any color interpolation before image compression, piecewise linear compression is performed on raw line data. It generates a single control point set for all color components of the same line and packs the control points into a compact format so that a small lookup table for variable-length Huffman encoding can be applied. The simplicity of piecewise-linear approximation and variable- length encoding leads to low-cost ASIC implementation and fast speed image compression solution with improved compression ratio, better color fidelity, and capability to implement decoding in parallel processing.

Abstract:ABSTRACTThe rapid development of wired and wireless networks tremendouslyfacilitates communications between people. However, most of thecurrent wireless networks still work in low bandwidths, and mobiledevices still suffer from weak computational power, short batterylifetime and limited display capability. We developed a very lowbit-rate bi-level video coding technique, which can be used invideo communications almost anywhere, anytime on any device. Thespirit of this method is that rather than giving highest priorityto the basic colors of an image as in conventional DCT-basedcompression methods, we give preference to the outline features ofscenes when we have limited bandwidths. These features can berepresented by bi-level image sequences that are converted fromgray-scale image sequences. By analyzing the temporal correlationbetween successive frames and flexibilities in the scenepresentation using bi-level images, we achieve very high ratioswith our bi-level video compression scheme. Experiments show thatin low bandwidths, our method provides clearer shape, smoothermotion, shorter initial latency and much cheaper computational costthan do DCT-based methods. Our method is especially suitable forsmall mobile devices such as handheld PCs, palm-size PCs and mobilephones that possess small display screens and light computationalpower, and work in low bandwidth wireless networks. We have builtPC and Pocket PC versions of bi-level video phone systems, whichtypically provide QCIF-size video with a frame rate of 5-15 fps fora 9.6 Kbps bandwidth.

Abstract:Digital TV technology is developing quickly and becoming all-pervading in some regions now. But, because of the economic and technological reasons, the analog TV broadcast will still be the most popular media in some fields, such as TV broadcasting, video surveillance and so on. And how to improve the video quality under the condition of using the analog composite video source is a popular subject. After the analog composite video is decoded into RGB video components, the digital technology can work on it to improve the digital video quality evidently. Compared with the analog technology, the digital decoder has many advantages, such as high-powered decoding, and providing high quality video source for the back-end of digital video processor. Also, the software digital video decoding system can be used as the front-end of analog composite video decoding IC.Y/C(Lumu/chroma) separation and the chroma demodulation are the most important points of the decoding of analog composite video. Refer to the arithmetic of the NTSC decoding mentioned in the reference, they usually use 3D adaptive comb-filter to separate the luminance and the chroma, DPLL(digital phase locked loop) to demodulate the chroma. They perform well on the NTSC decoding, but they are too complicated, and hard to be realized on hardware. This thesis focuses on a smart and high-powered digital decoder of NTSC analog video, based on the research of the NTSC encoding and decoding. The NTSC composite video is sampled by the high-speed, high-resolution FPGA(field programmable gate array) data acquisition system. The digital decoder uses improved 2D adaptive comb-filter to separate the luminance and the chroma. Compared with the 3D adaptive comb-filter, it is smarter and perform better on the Y/C separation. The digital decoder also uses phase estimation arithmetic to recover the phase of color burst. Compared with the DPLL, it is smarter and has no risk of losing effect under some special conditions, and it also has no special request on the sample clock. The RGB video components after being decoded can be displayed on many digital monitors directly, and can be processed by the back-end digital video processor. The digital decoding arithmetic is verified by the MATLAB on PC(computer). The image decoded from the analog NTSC video is nice, and the digital decoding system is effective, high-powered and simple.

Abstract:DirectShow is a technology which is based on multimedia applied COM module technology.In order to solve the problem that the slow speed of transforming video information,the Directshow technology dealing video is presented.The paper introduces the theory of DirectShow technology,besides,combining with the practical system,presents the design method of MPEG-4 data network transmission,decoding,real-time playing and so on.The system obtains good practical effect by the technology.The result of the experiment indicates the good foreground applications of DirectShow technology in multimedia domain.

Abstract:The framework of DirectShow and BDA which is needed to receive DTV signals on Windows platform is simply analyzed in this paper.Meanwhile,the design of PC receiver application for DVB-C is discussed and its complete implementation process is also given.The test results show that PC receiver can accurately analyze the information of multiplexed TS stream and fluently play audio and video streams.
