Abstract:There may be much gap of the scope and requirement among distributed teams in dual shore software projects. Collaborative requirement engineering is essential so as to keep consistent not only among distributed teams but also among the entire software life cycle. This paper is intended to introduce a workflow for collaborative software requirement engineering including requirement gathering, requirement analysis, requirement evolving, and requirement management for change or bug fixing. The suggestion solution can be helpful especially to the dual-shore software maintenance project.

Abstract:Abstract In the iterative process of the update of the information service system, the continuous improvement of the system is restricted due to problems such as non-standard, incomplete, and strong ambiguity in the description of requirements. It makes it difficult to verify the consistency and integrity of requirements. In this paper, we focus on the huge requirements of complex information service system, and propose research on requirement itemized extraction and structured description technology based on natural language processing and requirement item keyword extraction and standardized expression technology. The library management system is used as the verification object to verify the effectiveness of the method proposed in this paper.

Abstract:Changes of software requirement are uncontrollable. Requirement change and its chain reactions are the most influential risk factor for the project quality during any stages of software development. Automatical requirement management can minimize the negative impact of requirements change. Automaticity of requirement change management relies on formal level and degree of standardization. Based on ideas of recursion and decomposition, this paper analyzes the requirement analysis method, referred to ROB. ROB is closer to reality. ROB is easily understandable and acceptable. ROB is a requirements modeling approach based resource, organization and business. It makes an improvement on management processes and management organization, designs the storage model by formalizing the requirement as a tree. It achieves the automatical and intelligent requirement change management by modify the tree under certain rules and constraints. In practical applications, the effectiveness of our approach has been indicated with a software tool.

Abstract:. Requirement management plays a crucial role in determining a successful engineering design project. The focus of current requirement research is on the development of requirement elicitation, analysis and formalization methods and tools. Moreover, the existing requirement research often pays attention to the fuzzy front end of product design process. In fact, there exists more needs for requirement knowledge at each stage of a product lifecycle and requirement also has its own lifecycle. However, the research in the field of engineering design lack of a framework to support requirement management from product lifecycle, and requirement and requirement management lifecycle views. This paper highlights the importance of requirement lifecycle management and aims at closing the requirement information loop in product lifecycle. Then, it addresses the requirement management in engineering design field with focusing on the dynamics nature and incomplete nature of requirements. Finally, a closed-loop based framework is proposed for requirement management in engineering design.

Abstract:Designers specify design requirements and determine the interconnections between the design requirements and main components of the system architecture during the conceptual design phase. To define the architecture of a mechatronic system, two research issues, namely system decomposition and component selection, should receive special attention. However, the manner in which to realise system decomposition and component selection by using the requirement specification results, to achieve an appropriate system architecture, has seldom been investigated in existing studies. Therefore, the authors present a requirement-driven architecture definition approach to solve the system decomposition and component selection problems. A well-formulated specification of design requirements is proposed, which classifies design requirements into functional and nonfunctional requirements. Moreover, a decomposition method based on the functional requirements is presented to help designers realise system decomposition, while a component selection method based on the non-functional requirements is proposed to help designers select the most suitable components. The lunar roving vehicle and automated ceramic matrix composite materials cutting system are selected as two case studies to demonstrate the application of the proposed approach in both the academic and industrial domains.

Abstract:In engineering design, capturing customers' requirements exactly and transforming them into design specifications are vital to designing a quality product. However, the expressions of customer requirements are normally imprecise and ambiguous due to their linguistic origins. There is still a lack of a systematic approach for elaborating these requirements and transforming them from informal to formal. Therefore, this article provides a scenario-based, systematic approach for requirements management in engineering design. The requirements management process is conceptualized as a three-phase model, and scenarios are integrated into this model for elaborating and formally representing the requirements. A case study of a soy milk maker design is also provided to demonstrate the proposed approach.

Abstract:In order to represent increasingly complicated and diversified service requirements thoroughly and accurately, a new Requirement Model (SRM) was presented in our service engineering methodology Service Model Driven Architecture (SMDA). In SRM, key elements of service requirement were abstracted from four perspectives: interaction process, organization, resource and information and the rules of SRM modeling were proposed. A case of ocean logistics was presented to reveal SRM construction process. Finally, comparison between SRM and other service models was conducted, and a prototype system for SRM modeling tool was also briefly introduced.

Abstract:This paper proposes a requirement analysis approach to periodic control systems that are widely used as one of the real time systems. By regulating the initial requirement documents with key words in natural language, we compile the regulated requirement documents into an intermediate model specified by SPARDL language with formal syntax and semantics. To make the requirement executable, a prototype generation technique is proposed to simulate the system behaviors. To analyze the dataflow relations among modules among the same mode or different modes, we introduce module-level and mode-level dataflow analysis techniques to help system engineers to uncover the potential affections on any two modules. The dataflow analysis techniques are useful especially for module reuse when a new version of the system is developed. We have applied the developed tool based on our approach to the Moon-Exploration Spacecraft Project from Beijing Institute of Control Engineering, and the preliminary experiments are encouraging. We have found both the ambiguity and the inconsistency cases in the requirement documents from the project.

Abstract:Requirementsengineering is a main question which spans across the whole software development lifecycle. Spacecraft’s software also needs to focus on software requirements, and manage the requirements across the entire software development lifecycle, including operation, maintenance, and the redevelopment. This paper summarizes six technologies and methods of requirement acquisition, including Interview, Questionnaires, Consult Strategic Objectives and Departmental Standards, Panel Discussions, Storyboard, Defect Tracking Management, analyzes different types of software requirement analysis combined with actual cases, Management software, Software for Scientific Research and production, Professional and Technical Software, these three types of software’s requirements engineering management. In the end, identifies some directions for future research. The aerospace company now more inclined to use all kinds of mature software platform based on a small amount of customization changes, succession advanced management concept in mature platform. It will improve the system stability, and at the same time, the flexibility of the excellent software platform can ensure the personal demands.

Abstract:A framework is presented that guides the requirements engineer in the implementation and execution of an effective requirements development process. We achieve this goal by providing a modeling method of requirements development process model. Current models deal with only portions of the requirements development process and commonly include activities defined at higher levels of abstraction. We address one design method for complete requirements development process and can define activities by the different objective requirement state. Thus, our method guides the requirements engineer to define the requirements development process and assist in the selection of activity knowledge. We can map RE knowledge to activities based on their objectives state. In addition, we have identified knowledge selection criteria and prescribed a reduced set of knowledge that optimize these criteria for each activity defined by our requirements development process. Thus, the model and the set of knowledge, taken together, provide the much needed guidance for the effective implementation and execution of the requirements development process.
