Abstract:Aiming at serious problems of controlling packing pressure in injection molding processes with traditional PID algorithm, such as pressure overshoot,static error,time delay etc.,a mathematical model of the packing pressure system in injection process was established.Considering the behaviors of system,a new control device with CMAC and PID compound controller was designed. The experimental results show that,compared to traditional PID control, CMAC and PID compound control improves the pressure overshoot,static error and time delay of the packing pressure significantly,and makes notable progresses on quality and repeatability of products.

Abstract:There has been extensive interest in model algorithm control (MAC) and its application to industrial processes for dealing with time-varying parameters, uncertain characteristics. But the control based on basic MAC method still exists some problems. One of the problems is how to design MAC system to improve the robustness to prior choice of model. The second is how to use the adaptive algorithm for on-line estimation which doesn't need a huge amount of computational time that influence the regulation performance for engineering application. In this paper, a novel adaptive model algorithm control (AMAC) is developed with consideration for dealing with the model prediction error and bounded disturbances and noise, combined with the auto-stop parameter estimation technique. Based on this method, the complex system can be described with low-term system, which results in reducing computational time, and improving the robustness to model structure for effective control of complex chemical processes. Finally, according to the proposed AMAC method, two typical processes are studied by computer simulation. The results show this AMAC method is much advantaged with robustness to modelling error and different bounded disturbance and can be easily applied to control the complex processes.

Abstract:Model predictive control technology has brought huge benefit in the refining/petrochemical industry and starts to attract attention of other process industries. However, sustainability is a big challenge in MPC applications due to its technical difficulties and high cost in human resources. In order to considerably reduce the difficulties and costs of MPC deployment and maintenance, we introduce an adaptive MPC controller. The adaptive MPC consists of three modules: an MPC control module, an online identification module and a control monitor module. The three modules work together coherently in real-time. During MPC commissioning, the online identification module and the MPC control module work together and perform various steps in MPC implementation automatically. When the MPC controller is online, the control monitor module continuously monitors the MPC performance and model quality. When control performance degradation and considerable model error are detected, monitor module will start the maintenance by activating the online identification module. The identification module will re-identify the model and replace the old model. Most of the steps can be done automatically under the supervision of the operator. The scarce control expert is only needed in controller design. A prototype of the adaptive MPC controller has applied successfully to two PTA units and the results will be reported.

Abstract:Patternless Casting Manufacturing(PCM)technology is one kind of Rapid Prototyping technology with independent intellectual property rights of our country and it has been widely applied in many fields.The paper firstly presents the new progress of PCM in resent years and then introduce two new rapid tooling technology based on PCM as follows: 1.metal spraying rapid tooling technology based on PCM prototyping 2.metal tooling rapid manufacturing technology based on PCM casting mould.They play an important rule in the advanced manufacturing technology.The new rapid tooling technology in this paper has an important application in the rapid manufacturing of trial-manufacture of car body tooling.

Abstract:In this paper,the three-dimensional model contained foundry technical information is created by Pro/E software,and then the numerical simulation of solidification process is carried out based on MAGMAsoft,so that the verification and optimization of technical design can be achieved. According to the simulation results,the reasons of casting defects can be found,and by modifying the processing parameters,the process can be optimized and improved. Finally,a reasonable technology program can be brought forward.

Abstract:Traditional design methodologies of industrial process measurement and control system (IPMCS) do not meet the needs of todays unpredictable and ever changing global market, so a new method based on IEC61499 and design pattern is proposed in this paper. Particularly, a function block based model view control design pattern is constructed, and with the proposed design pattern, a prototype of drilling measurement and control system is designed. Design procedure of the prototype system indicates the flexibility, extensibility, reusability and interoperability of the new design method.

Abstract:The patternless casting manufacturing (PCM) technique, which adopts a new concept of double scanning method, combines the principle of discreteness and deposition with resin-bonded sand technique. This paper is to evaluate the dimensional accuracy of sand mould on PCM. The two important factors—the liquid penetration rule in the space of particles and the shape and dimension of the agglomeration unit body, which influence the process parameters such as scanning speed, layer thickness, liquid flux on dimension accuracy, and surface qualities, were investigated systematically, thus the theoretical basis for these parameters was provided. Experiments on rapid manufacturing of sand mould were carried out, and the results of the free penetration and the constraint penetration well verified the relationship of the two factors and the process parameters.

Abstract:A design pattern of multi-layer distributed software was introduced to improve the system integration, openability and reusability for the existing advanced process control (APC) software. The design principle, basic framework and features of the new APC software package and its applications were introduced. The designing technology and its realization method for the interface layer, business service layer, business object layer were given. The introduced APC software package was tested on an aromatic extraction xylene raffinate column of Petrochemical Company and was proved with perfect performance and good effectiveness in practical application. The developed software package shows its powerful function, good openability and flexibility, better reliability and maintainability in experimental research.

Abstract:By analyzing the controlling system function of electron beam selective melting, the PMAC motion controller is selected as a slave computer of the controlling system, which can not only control the four serve motion and several limit signals, but also can save and download the scanning data. Furthermore, the scanning data can be calculated and self-executed by the PMAC motion controller. Two years running effects showed that this controlling system has very high reliability.

Abstract:The field of Process system engineering (PSE) is constantly developing with the availability of advanced computational resources. Since 1960s, process simulation has been one of the most successful story in using computer aided methods and tools in the field of chemical engineering. Nowadays, several software tools are available for process simulation, process optimization, process synthesis and design. However, the current software in PSE is mainly focussed on processes without consideration of controller design or validation. The gap between process design and controller design seems to be increasing, which may lead to suboptimal solutions especially for closed-loop systems. Therefore, there is always a demand for integrating the process design with consideration of the controller design; even though the development of such software tool has not been well addressed so far, or are industry specific. In this paper, a model-based integrated process and controller design software tool called ProCACD (computer aided controller design) is presented along with a case study to design controllers and optimize controller parameters for a system of three-tanks-in-series with recycle.

Abstract:To meet the NC program design of mechanical parts for Mass Customization, this paper puts forward the systematic structure and information model of NC program design. On the basis of the NC program intelligent design system, Product Data Management (PDM) and CAD are integrated as the platform, then, the main NC program of part is obtained through putting the parameter document into the NC program intelligent design system from SML (Tabular Layouts of Article Characteristics). NC Meta-model program stock is founded by adopting the Meta-model idea, which is seen as the resource-stock for NC design. According to the customization need, the parameters are changed in SML, then, the Meta-model program stock is searched, the configuration and variant design are realized through distilling, increasing, deleting and modifying the sub-program. Finally, the customized NC code is obtained. The T6436 rotor-circulating part is applied to validate the theory in the paper. Results show the NC program design for Mass Customization improves the design efficiency and meets product customization.

Abstract:In order to increase productivity, integrated manufacturing as a kind of strategy has become more and more important. A conceptual model of integrated manufacturing was proposed. Focusing on the numerical control machining of customized product, the integrated manufacturing principle for mass customization was discussed and architecture model of an integrated manufacturing system was presented as well. Firstly, the master model and master NC (numerical control) program of customized product were built. Then these manufacturing resources were unified managed in the PDM (product data management) system. Based on these resources, variant design of customized product could be carried out, at the same time NC machining program of customized product could be generated rapidly. Secondly, NC machining program was input into the NC machining tool through a DNC (distributed numerical control) system, and then remote machining and control would be realized. By adopting this integrated manufacturing system, company can implement mass customization production effectively

Abstract:Based on the review of current status and development of casting CNC manufacturing technology, this paper analyzes the characteristics and studies the mechanism of casting CNC cutting, along with the processing technique. A new casting CNC forming equipment is developed and successfully applied to the product development in automobile industry, mechanical industry and so on, which is regarded as a typical application case. Research indicates that patternless casting CNC manufacturing is a technical renovation compared to the traditional casting manufacturing, with traits of green, digital, flexibility, precision, rapidity. It’s applicable to the rapid manufacturing of metal casting either in single piece or small lot, and the pattern is unneeded. This new technology brings a promising application future in the automobile and mechanical equipment industries.

Abstract:In the CAD of casting process, using three-dimensional drawing software, the parts solid modeling has became the main method of modern casting process design, and has replaced other measures gradually, which makes casting more closely with the computer together, replacing manpower and personal experience to carry out casting process design conveniently, fast and accurately. The casting process design CAD is an interactive design process and casting process database contains a plenty of categories. The database structure is so complicated that it has to make full use of computer database technology and computer graphics technology, which promotes the integration process of CAD/CAE/CAM in casting process. In the database, not only do a large number of standard data and empirical data need storing to support casting design process, but also the data generated dynamically needs to be stored and repeatedly be modified. In this paper, based on parameter of the casting production, the database was established by analyzing and calculating the data. With that database as back-end database, the casting process database management system was developed by Delphi and SQL server. The system can realize casting process data query, data storage, database maintenance and other functions, which solves the problem of Effective storage and rational utilization of casting process data generated in the CAD of casting process.

Abstract:A control system based on the Turbo PMAC motion controller was designed for forging manipulators. The control system has been realized achieved in a similar model of a forging manipulator. The control system hardware and software are involved in the design. High-speed communication and servo control of hydraulic cylinder was achieved. Because the system is open, it is easy to carry out experimental research. Joint control of the machine in this system eliminated the position and orientation errors which exist in the traditional control method.

Abstract:In the new and emerging mass customization (MC) strategy, companies provide customized products or services on the basis of flexible manufacturing and modem information technology (IT). This paper focuses on the rapid design and automatization issue of NC machining program. A NC programming system for mass customization was investigated and employed to construct master NC program of part family and generate NC machining program of variant part rapidly. The purpose is to increase the development efficiency of NC machining program in mass customization company and make the NC machining program meet the variant design of part. In order to expedite the implementation of such a system,the NC programming principle for mass customization was researched. The model of master NC program was presented based on the definition of machining feature and the design of NC subprogram base. In addition,the content and structure of master NC program were analyzed. Then a prototype system was designed and its function model was presented on the basis of CAD system and PDM system. Finally,a case study on bearing cover was carried out to verify the validity of this system.

Abstract:The application of CAD in investment casting is of vital significance to improve the efficiency and quality of production. The across-platform CAD system for moulding tool and casting technology in investment casting was developed. This CAD system has the functions of performing the analysis of processability of part, selecting technological parameters, designing gating system, aiding die design, and inquiring relevant information. JAVA program language in the CAD software system was used to conduct program design to realize the across-platform. The system has the advantages of modularization structure, friendly interface, and convenient operation and maintenance.

Abstract:In order to better support product development and design for Mass Customization (MC), the key integration technologies of Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Product Data Manage- ment (PDM) system were studied. Focusing on the data integration of part, the data model of part family and data mapping logic of CAD and PDM systems integration were discussed. The system integration architecture was put forward as well. Then several main function interfaces were developed including coding module interface, setting up tabular layouts of article characteristics and registration interface from CAD model to PDM. Finally, an application example was provided to verify the feasibility of principle and system.
