Abstract:A software system based on C/S structure is developed for monitoringγ radiation around Qinshan Nuclear Power Plant. The key technology of the system is described and the man functions of the software, including data inputting, data storing, data processing and data displaying, are introduced in this article. It is demonstrated that such software system could derive real-time data from monitoring stations accurately and steadily. The software system can improve the management level and management efficiency of the Environmental Radiation Monitoring department.

Abstract:A kind of real-time monitoring system is developed, which fits different DCS systems and has a good real-time performance. In this system, the display module runs in web browser as a ActiveX component, which makes it easy to maintain, and a system uses UDP data package to transmit data with a high real-time performance. The system structure and implement method of the real-time display system are introduced.

Abstract:In order to promote the operating skill of operators in power unit, this paper introduces a checking system of operation indexes under Web. The stored data that can reflect the operating level of unit is counted according to shift. The results are displayed dynamically on Intranet. This system helps to appraise operators equally and improve the economical efficiency of generating unit. Also the system structure and implementation method are analyzed in detail. Abstract:To meet the requirement of highly real-time, tremendous data transferring and complicated diagnostic causes of remote monitoring and fault diagnosis with power electronic equipment, a novel idea of distributed system with industrial PC (IPC) and PLC controlling field terminal is proposed in this paper. Based on the techniques of power electronics, fault diagnosis and network, a remote monitoring and fault diagnosis system with combination of a three-layer C/S structure and Internet is presented, which achieves with high compatibility between different equipment. Furthermore, the paper focuses on the discussion about the structure of compatible systems, the compatibility design of remote monitoring and the realization of field control equipment, such as the data collection sub-system, the real-time monitoring sub-system, the fault diagnosis sub-system and the data disposal and management sub-system, and the design of the data transferring sub-system and the communication protocol format.This work is supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China (No. 50207008).
An integrated tool for developing operator support system of nuclear power plant

Abstract:An integrated tool is proposed for helping the user to develop operator support system for Nuclear Power Plant (NPP). With a friendly graphical interface, this integrated tool includes a database, a procedure development toolkit and a Multilevel Flow Models (MFM) toolkit. In the database, a three layer hierarchy is adopted to express the complexity of operator support system, which includes mission, process and node. The procedure development toolkit consists of a procedure editor and a procedure executor which can develop, maintain and implement the operator support system. The MFM toolkit includes a MFM editor and a MFM executor which can construct the MFM model and make the consequence analysis for finding root cause of accident and it propagation in the plant during abnormal and emergent operating condition. A prototype system of this integrated tool has been developed. The prototype system is applied to develop a simple operator support system for a simulated NPP.

Abstract:A Conceptual Design of the National Nuclear Emergency Management Information System was brought forward in this paper, based on the summarization of some emergency management information systems used in China and some other countries. The conceptual system should have four basic characteristics, that are (1) a graphic displaying and querying interface based on GIS (2) data and results shared with the assessment software of nuclear accident (3) a complete set of databases and (4) the capability of on-line data receiving or real-time distributing of the commands and information for emergency response.

Abstract:The application of computer control system in a power plant will bring a great economic benefit. But it will take a long time to debug a new computer control system in a power plant. So a platform is manufactured for developing and debugging the power plant computer control system in the National Key Lab of Safety Control and Simulation of Power System and Largescale Power Generation Facility. The configuration software developed independently has a good performance and full function. The platform can be used in debugging the software and hardware of a control system, training the users and studying the advanced control strategy. The successful application of this platform shows that it is reliable and convenient. This paper presents the development and the character of the platform.

Abstract:Aiming at the faults that the current electrical equipments maintenance and CAA system can not design experiment report or compatible heterogeneous database,this paper gives a software architecture with data abstraction and object oriented style connection with system style,on which an electrical equipments maintenance and CAA system is designed.The system,with FrontPage designing its experimental report, dynamically generates experiment report,builds database table,and adds entity domain object by using technologies of Hibernate,HtmlParser, XML.The system is compatible with heterogeneous database.A key code for system realization is given.

Abstract:Now that the CSNS ion source test stand has been stably working for years, an online control system for the CSNS ion source which aims to be more stable and reliable is now under development. F3RP61-2L, a new PLC CPU module running an embedded Linux system, is introduced to the system as an IOC, to function together with the I/O modules of FA-M3 PLC on the PLC-bus. The adoption of the new IOC not only simplifies the architecture of the control system, but also improves the data transmission speed. In this paper, the design and development of the supervisory and control system for the CSNS ion source are described.

Abstract:In order to improve the automatic standard of power station operation, a real-time supporting system of fault diagnosis has been built. With this system, an on-line power station boiler fault diagnosis expert system can be made by configuration. This system supplies real-time data share, diagnostic message exchanging and uniform graphic user interface. A prototype integrating fault diagnosis of superheater tube leakage and boiler combustion is set up with this supporting system. It will accelerate the application of boiler fault diagnosis expert systems.

Abstract:In recent years, human society has observed a world-widely increasing number of cyberattacks, with increasing complexities, applied onto different information, telecommunication and control (ITC) systems including those in the nuclear power plants (NPPs). The target of those attacks against NPPs can be various subsystems of instrumental and control (I&C) systems, e.g. reactor protection systems, engineering workstations, etc. In response to the rising threats from the cyber space, regulations and technologies have been and are being developed to protect and enhance the cyber-security of I&C systems. Recently, a number of regulations and standards have been made for the prevention and mitigation of cyber threats. Meanwhile, an increasing number of research works have been published with the focuses on cyber-security assessment and protection To understand what are the cyber-attacks, how are they implemented, what are their consequences, how to analyze, assess and predict the cyber threats as well as what are the protection mechanisms, what are the optimal ways of deploy them, are beneficial to both researchers and practitioners. In this paper, we will deliver a state-of-the-art overview on various aspects of the cyber-security of NPP.

Abstract:Nuclear accident and nuclear terrorism are of great threats to international security. The countermeasures against nuclear emergency situation should be deliberately considered before it happened. In accordance with experience from Fukushima Daiichi Accident, various kinds of complex situations must be considered at the phase of emergency preparedness. And all related schedules, including national laws and regulations, allocation of responsibility and authority, emergency plans and procedures, facilities, instruments, trainings and exercises must be examined. The appropriateness of the emergency preparedness and the emergency response capability need to be verified through emergency exercises. However, exercises are usually costly and labor-intensive. So, it is necessary to design a software system to help conduct emergency exercises simulation. A Nuclear Emergency Decision Deduction and Training Platform (NEDDTP) is designed in China Nuclear Security Center of Excellence, which aims at performing the simulation of nuclear emergency process and providing a training platform for emergency workers. 3D models, the environment of nuclear power plant (NPP), some physical numerical models for simulating and several typical nuclear emergency scenarios for training are included in the platform. NEDDTP realizes the function of digitization of scenario, emergency simulation, resource management, command and dispatch, process record and evaluation in exercise, and it also provide VR display for emergency workers.

Abstract:Abstract In view of the problems of poor maintenance timeliness of nuclear power digital instrument and control system (I&C system) and the inability to evaluate the health condition of the I&C system in real time, a remote intelligent operation and maintenance strategy based on virtual DCS and Prognostic and Health Management (PHM) technology framework was proposed. The key technical information of virtual DCS and PHM is introduced. Combining with the technical characteristics of digital I&C system of nuclear power plant (NPP), the remote intelligent operation and maintenance framework combining virtual and actual object is constructed. With respect to the actual I&C system, virtual DCS was established to realize condition based maintenance for its flexibility and predictive characteristics. At the same time, the actual system data can be collected and stored through the I&C system data center, which will be the data basis for the remote monitoring of the site. Then, five functions of remote monitoring, fault diagnosis, condition prediction, intelligent maintenance and resource allocation and management are described. The key technologies and data resources needed to realize the scheme are analyzed. Finally, according to the strategy, a prototype with remote intelligent operation and maintenance function is built on the basis of a nuclear power platform, which realizes the strategy and provides feasibility guarantee for remote intelligent maintenance of I&C equipment.

Abstract:To ensure the safe operation of nuclear power plant, employees must complete nuclear power plant-related safety training. College students who are majored in nuclear engineering in China cannot deeply participate in nuclear power plant work during the college period. So, they do not have a deep understanding of the theoretical concepts of nuclear power systems in class. For research and teaching work on Sodium-cooled fast reactor (SFR), the Department of Engineering Physics at Tsinghua University has developed the sodium-cooled fast reactor nuclear power plant simulation software (ECFR) with Neoswise Science & Technology Co. Ltd. ECFR is the dynamic process model software of the SFR nuclear power plant which is based on VPOWER platform. This paper presents the application of ECFR in teaching. Experimental courses have been conducted for Tsinghua students. Students can observe the main system structure of the power plant and perform accident analysis through ECFR. Those experiments can help students grasp the latest nuclear power technology better and motivate them to study effectively. Furthermore, the future improvement direction of ECFR is also discussed, which includes the improvement measures of human-computer interaction and system design.

Abstract:Based on current status and developing trend of nuclear power plant technology, an evaluation software system is developed to assess advanced NPPs systematically according to a set of pre-established evaluation indices. The selection and classification of the indices, the determination of their weighting factors in applying AHP (analytic hierarchy process) method are discussed. The Fuzzy Comprehensive method and the Fuzzy Borda Number method are studied in detail. The original input data required by the evaluation system are deduced from the expert survey sheets Evaluation results with common significance of public attraction are discussed and analyzed according to the opinions of different experts grouped by age, profession and working expertise etc. The evaluation system is computer network based with high flexible and user friendly human-machine interface on which it is easy to manipulate and update the evaluation system, and to display evaluation results as well.

Radiation Detection Technology and Methods

Abstract:The China Spallation Neutron Source is an accelerator-based user facility for neutron, proton, muon applications and so on. The designed proton beam power is 100 kW for the first phase. Overall, the scope of accelerator control system covers four parts, the global systems, the device layer local controls and remote controls, the high-level applications and services and the integration of conventional facilities. The principle guideline is to adopt as many as possible matured technologies and commercial products in the design and implementation. The control system is based on Experimental Physics and Industrial Control System. VME64x bus is chosen for timing system and fast protection system. PLCs and embedded industrial computers are used in the device layer slow controls. Control System Studio is adopted as the high-level applications. Blade server-based virtualization platform is deployed for the computer system. The accelerator control system was completed in September 2017 and then transited to routine operations. The design, implementation and operation of the accelerator control system are described in this paper.
