Evaluation of Tourism Resources and Its Spatial Structure in Baotou

Abstract:Baotou city is the largest city of Inner Mongolia, a famous steel city in grass land of China and a noted scarce earth metropolis in the world. Based on the method of synthetical appraisement, Baotou's attraction was evaluated individually and integratedly by using eight index. The result shows that abundant and attractive natural landscapes, such as grass landscapes, mountainous landscapes and water landscapes, have enormous value in tourism development. Human resources, such as urban culture, historical heritages, folk-customs, are attractive and worthful. In addition, this paper evaluates the spatial structure of attractions in Baotou city by using density, number and scale index. At the last, Baotou city's area is divided into eight attraction clustering areas.
