Abstract:We have employed Tang-Toennies potential model to decribe the colliding system between helium atom and an asymmetric isotopically substituted hydrogen molecule, and to obtain the potential surface of the system in the center-of-mass system by proper coordinate transformation. Then we have calculated the rotational excitation cross sections in the framework of close coupling approximation and discussed the effect of asymmetric isotope substitution on the differential cross section.

Abstract:The differential and partial wave scattering cross sections of Ne-H2(D2,T2) collisions have been calculated by close-coupling approximation method using Tang-Toennies potential model at the incident energy of 83.8 meV. The calculated differential cross sections are in good agreement with the experimental data and the partial wave cross sections match well with the published data. With the same method and potential model, the differential cross sections and the partial wave cross sections of Ne-H2(D2,T2) collisions have been derived and analyzed. The rules of the effect of symmetrical isotopic substitution are obtained.

Abstract:Multiple ellipsoid model is applied to the 20 Ne, 34 Ne- 18 Na 2 , 23 Na 2 and 37 Na 2 collision systems. The integral cross-sections for rotational excitation and total collision cross-sections at the incident energy of 190 meV are calculated. Moreover, at the related incident energy, the contributions of different regions of the potential to the integral cross-sections of rotational excitation for 20 Ne- 18 Na 2 , 23 Na 2 and 37 Na 2 collision systems are investigated. By analyzing the differences of these integral cross-sections, the change rules of the integral cross sections with the change of rotational angular quantum number of Na 2 molecule, as well as with the change of the reduced mass of symmetric isotopic substituted system are obtained.

Abstract:The state-to-state differential cross sections of rotational excitation at incident energy 64.0meV and elastic,inelastic and total differential cross sections are calculated for He atom collision with ground state N_2 molecule by employing accepted exact close-coupling approximation method at incident energy of 27.3,40.0,64.0 and 80.0meV,respectively.Then the changing regularities of differential scattering cross sections are summed up.It shows by investigation that elastic scattering takes place mainly at small angle,at the same time,inelastic scattering of rotational excitation chiefly at large angle while low-energy scattering for He-N_2 system.

Abstract:The close coupling approach is used to calculate the elastic and inelastic partial cross sections for collisions of helium atoms with hydrogen iodide molecules based on the intermolecular potential introduced in our previous research. The calculations are performed separately at the incident energies of 40, 75 and 100 meV. This study indicates that the excitation partial cross sections converge faster than the elastic partial cross section for each of the incident energies considered here. The excitation partial cross sections converge more rapidly for the higher excited states, and more slowly for the higher incident energies.

Abstract:In this paper, the close-coupling method and the Tang-Toennies potential are applied to the collisions of 3He, 4He, 9He and 10He with H2 systems when the incident energy is 0.7 eV. The vibrational and rotational excitation cross sections are calculated. By analyzing the partial wave cross sections, the changing tendencies of the partial wave cross sections with the quantum number and reduced mass in the isotopic substitution systems are obtained. © 2010 Chin. Abstract:The close coupling calculation of rotationally inelastic collision of Ne with LiH is first performed.A recently computed ab initio potential energy surface is employed.State-to-state differential,partial and integral cross sections are calculated.The influence of the long-range attractive and the short-range anisotropic interaction on the inelastic scattering dynamics are discussed in detail.The results in case of 500 cm~(-1) collision energy shows: ① A perfect compensation between the short-range anisotropic,which is predominantly repulsive,and the long-range attractive interaction and cancel each other out result in a pronounced minimum in the opacity function.This minimum approximately divide potential surface into two parts mentioned above.② both long-range attractive and short range anisotropic interaction are found to contribute to inelastic excitation of the low rotational states.In fact,for Δj=1 and 2,long-range attraction is the important but not exclusive excitation mechanism.Specially,attractive interactions are responsible for about 30% of the integral cross sections for Δj=1 excitation.As for Δj≥3,whereas,scattering is dominated by short-range(repulsive and the attractive) interaction as if the long-range attraction hardly matter. It is of advantage to Δj=1 transition for Ne atom closing to the LiH molecule from the Li-side in the manner of approximate collinearity,and advantage to higher Δj excitation for striking from Jacobi angle 90°.③The differential cross sections for transitions with low Δj are concentrated below 30° center-of-mass scattering angles.For Δj=2～4 it show prominent impact parameter rainbow but present the characteristic of rotational rainbow for Δj=6,7.Long-range attraction contribution to the angle distribution is only below 10° scattering angles for Δj=1 and 2.Short-range interaction appears approximately pure repulsion for Δj=1,whereas presents the important influence of its attractive components besides its repulsive components for excitation Δj≥2.

Abstract:By using close-coupling equation and Tang-Toennies potential for the He,Ne,Ar,Kr,Xe-D_2 system,the partial wave cross sections of 00-00 elastic collision and 00-02 unelastic collision at collision energy E=0.05,0.15 and 0.25eV were calculated,and the changing regularities of them for inertia atom and D_2 collision with the increase of quantum number and the relative kinetic energy of incoming atoms were obtained from this calculation,result: the partial wave cross sections of the 00-00 elastic collision fluctuate continuously as J increasing,and tail effect appears,the situation where fluctuation maxium occurs and convergent partial wave number all changing continuously with the relative kinetic energy increasing of incoming atoms.

Abstract:In this paper, we use the Huxley potential function to fit the interaction energy data, which have been calculated at the theoretical level of the QCISD(T)/aug-cc-pVTZ. Differential and partial cross-sections of 16Ne, 20Ne, 34Ne atoms and HF molecule collisions are calculated by the accurate close-coupling approximation method when the incident energy is 100meV. We study the changing tendencies of Ne-HF collisional cross-sections with Ne isotopic substitution.

Abstract:Multiple hard-ellipsoid model is a theoretical model which can more accurately decribe collisions between He atom and Na2 molecule. In this paper, we adopted the multiple hard-ellipsoid model to calculate the integral cross sections of rotational excitation for collisions in 3He,4He,7He,10He-Na2 systems at different relative incidence energies. This study shows that we can improve the accuracy of the results by increasing the number of equipotential ellipsoid surfaces. Moreover, we find that the integral cross sections of rotational excitation change with the relative incidence energy and reduced mass of the system. Finally, at relative incidence energy of 100 meV, we investigate the influence of different regions of the intermolecular potential on integral cross sections of rotational excitation in 4He-Na2 collisions.

Abstract:In the work, accurate converged theoretical simulations of the Ne+HD+(v=1) reaction are presented with the time-dependent wave packet (TDWP) method using the accurate potential energy surface by Lv (J. Chem. Phys. 2010, 132, 014303). In particular, the effect of intramolecular substitution and the translational collision energy on the reactive dynamics is investigated in detail to discern the reaction mechanisms. Total and state-to-state integral cross sections (ICSs) and differential cross sections (DCSs) of the two channels are derived and compared over a wide range of collision energies up to 1.2 eV. The analysis of the ICSs in terms of the total angular momentum contributions shows that the contribution of the J partial wave varies in the two reactive channels at different collision energies. The product state-resolved DCSs reveal that two opposite mechanisms co-exist in the two reactive channels with different ratios at low and high collision energies. Overall, NeH ++D channel appears to form the products via collision complex formation, which survives long enough leading to a forward–backward symmetric total DCS at low collision energies. In comparison, the NeD ++H proceeds through a direct stripping reaction, with predominantly forward scattering in the DCSs.

Abstract:In this paper,the accurate atom-diatom Tang-Toennies potential and close-coupling equation are applied to the He-H_2 collision system when the incident energy is 0.2,1.2 or 2.2 eV.It is the first time that the partial cross sections of the He-H_2 collision system are calculated at a relatively high collision energy(>2-0 eV).By analyzing the calculated results,the changing tendencies of the elastic and inelastic partial wave cross sections of the system are obtained.

Abstract:The HD molecule is an important coolant in early universe chemistry models and a tracer of H-2 in star-forming regions. Rate coefficients for collisional excitation and de-excitation of HD rotational and vibrational levels form important ingredients in astrophysical models. While collisions with He, H-2, and H are the most important, available data for H + HD collisions are largely limited to temperatures less than 1000 K for the vibrational ground state, low-lying rotational levels of the v = 1 HD vibrational level, or computed without reactive contributions. Here, through explicit quantum scattering calculations, we report extensive data for rovibrational transitions in HD induced by H atoms for a range of rotational levels in v = 1 and some v = 0 levels for temperatures up to 1000 K. The significance of the computed results for astrophysical modeling is discussed.
