Abstract:This paper elaborates the development of spatial structure in our country.Because the forms and types are colorful and incessantly innovating,it is necessary to divide spatial structure by component elements.After the 21th century,the development of our nation’s spatial structure comes into a new period that the application range and fields for spatial structure extend continuously.Besides the large-span public buildings such as gymnasiums and airports,there are extensive and innovative applications including large-scale railway stations,stations awning without column,bridges and high-rise buildings for spatial structure.About the international cooperation,it is suggested to have an open mind and optimistic view towards the fact that that architecture scheme for our nation’s spatial structures are frequently led by foreign companies.China is already a country with a great deal of the top of the world spatial structures,thus it is our responsibility to strive to create even better and advanced spatial structures.Some issues which we should pay more attention are pointed out.

Abstract:The measures for optimizing the land utilization and structure were put forward according to the analysis of the relation between the land utilization and environmental construction in Shangqiu city.The eco-environment bearing capacity of land resources was analyzed by using the ecological environment vulnerability assessment.The result showed that land environment of Shangqiu city was in a weak balanceable phases,the ability of maintaining system homeostasis was weak and anti-jamming ability was also weak.

Abstract:In order to ensure China, a populous country, to develop in a sustainable way, it is an urgent task to disseminate the concept of sustainability and put it into practice for urban construction. However, it is impossible for China to simply copy the experiences of developed countries, since China has the higher population and building density and less availability of reusable energy per square meter floor area. Therefore, it is necessary to develop the sustainable building technologies applicable to various climate regions, economic conditions, and residential customs in China, as well as sustainable to the most occupants and owners. Based on an introduction of the current situation of the development of construction industry and the energy consumption of buildings in China, this paper analyses the requirements, characteristics, standards for sustainable housing and urban construction, and recommends series of technical approaches along with different phases of sustainable design and construction, which strengthen a good cooperation among researchers, designers and constructors of different majors including architecture, planning, building physics, building services, and so on. Moreover, some issues, which need further research and especially handling, are pointed out along with the recommendations. Finally, policy issue related with the sustainable development of urban construction in China is discussed.

Abstract:The purpose of the paper is to discuss the interactive influence of dynamic mechanism in different stages between urbanization and construction land.Method of econometrics analysis was employed.The results show that:(1) there was an equilibrium relationship between the development of urbanization and the construction land expansion in the long term,and the construction land expansion was the inevitable result of the development of urbanization,however,in a short time,the development of urbanization was not the direct factor that causes the construction land expansion;(2)extensive construction land use was not the necessary product of the rapid urbanization,on the contrary,the development of urbanization would promote the more intensive construction land use in a short period,but the effect was limited;(3)the contribution of construction land expansion to the development of urbanization was limited;(4)the change of urbanization could only explain small part of the construction land use change in a short time,while it could explain the construction land use change in a long time basically.It is concluded that,to achieve a more reasonable land use,the promotion of urbanization to construction land development should be fully realized.The construction land supply should be reasonably controlled in the short term and the proper urbanization way of economical land use needs to be carefully selected in the long term.

Mitigation and Adaptation Strategies for Global Change

Abstract:China is undergoing rapid urbanization, along with economic growth and transport automation. Because it is densely populated, China is constrained by natural resource limitations and potential impacts of global climate change. Significant challenges for sustainable urban development include urban sprawl, traffic congestion, air pollution, city layouts not oriented to twenty-first century lifestyles, declining traditional urban culture, selective over-development, and social inequities. Increasing awareness of these pressing problems has led national and provisional governments and cities to seek sustainable urban development solutions. Central ministries and non-government organizations have implemented pilot projects demonstrating best practices in the Chinese context. These are being scaled up to develop local and national guidelines and policies. This paper describes China’s urbanization issues and national and local efforts toward the realization of sustainable urbanization. It is hoped that China’s urbanization trends and challenges will stimulate sustainable and low-carbon concepts and approaches that can enrich sustainable urbanization theory and practices in and beyond China.

Abstract:The sustainable development of urban residential areas is the inevitable choice in the 21'st century in China. This paper deeply analyses the main problem that exits in the spatial layout of urban residential areas in China currently and the situation with which it is faced, points out that the sustainable spatial layout is the realistic choice of the sustainable development of urban residential areas. At last, abstractly discusses the primary connotation of the sustainable spatial layout of urban residential areas and puts forward the countermeasures that should be taken to promote its fulfillment.

Abstract:Abstract This article analyzes and studies the current status and development direction of Zhengzhou City by using urban management theory, comparative methods and on-the-spot investigation methods. Close to the conclusion. As a new first-tier city, Zhengzhou's development level and planning and construction are not yet mature, and there are still many problems that need to be solved urgently. The results of the study show that the overall provision of public goods in Zhengzhou is uneven and inadequate. Public goods are an obvious material manifestation of whether cities are developed or not. Infrastructure is a major component of public goods. Housing construction is the top priority of the people's livelihood. In response to the housing planning and environmental protection issues in Zhengzhou City, this article puts forward several suggestions: to expand the investment of funds to build affordable housing; to resolve the garbage classification and land layout Environmental issues in Zhengzhou. Environmental protection has always been a key issue in China. Both cities and residents should raise their awareness of environmental protection in order for cities to develop healthily and sustainably. This article has a certain reference role for the urban planning and construction of Zhengzhou City.

Abstract:With the improvement of China's society and economy driven by the rapid development of industrialization and urbanization,the needs of natural and human resources are strongly increasing across the country.However,there exist a series of ecological and environmental issues that must be solved when we utilize the natural resources.In order to promote the construction of ecological civilization and step on the road of sustainable development,we need to objectively face the contradiction and find the balance between resources and development.Furthermore,we have to design the basic ideas and strategies of ecological civilization construction on protecting resources protection,improving ecological environment,and promoting the sustainable development.Currently,to comprehensively boost China's ecological civilization construction,we must follow the characteristics and requirements of our society to formulate the new route for promoting China's social sustainable development and form perfect systems of institution,science and technology innovation,and cultural education.

Abstract:Based on review of study and practice of livable-city from overseas and domestic cities,this article evaluates the livability of Qingyuan City of Guangdong Province,using the Evaluation Index System of Livable-city which have checked and accepted by the Ministry of Urban and Rural Construction.This article argues that Qingyuan meets the requests of livable-city building and serves up some suggestion to construct livable Qingyuan.Finally,it puts forward the action to construct livable Qingyuan,including the improvement of urban comprehensive centre,the promotion of housing environment,the construction of green economic system,the regulation of urban river system,the revival of urban culture,and the promotion of public participation.
The Necessity Of Applying Building Industrialization Strategy In China: Lesson Learned From The Disaster Of Wenchuan Earth-Quake

Abstract:Reflecting on the fact that much fewer destruction of buildings in urban area, such as in the Chengdu City and Mianyang City, than that of other places nearby in the disaster of Wenchuan Earth-quake, the authors did an investigation and found that there is a huge gap in terms of the supplies of professional services in construction market between the metropolises and other under-urbanized area in China. With the background of quick urbanization in China, obviously, a lot of buildings in counties or countryside all over the country were built without necessary professional services, where huge safety risks exist. To solve this problem, the authors advise that a new building industrialization strategy shall be adopted, which featured with four orientations, i.e., lightening the building materials, industrializing the building processes; easier on-site installment; and greening the building system. The authors believe that this new strategy can initiate a revolution in the construction industry, which will significantly improve the quality of building, and give important support to sustainable development.

Abstract:Resources are basic requirements for the construction of eco-cities and are important limitations for urban development.When making protective strategies for sustainable utilization of resources in constructing eco-city,the quantity of resources and the conflict between resource conditions and development of urban society and economy should be considered synthetically.Based on the profound connotation of eco-city,the scope on sustainable utilization of resources should be extended.People should focus on natural and biological resources,and also on human resources.We must pay adequate attention to cultures of a city by inheriting and protecting them in constructing eco-city. As a case,Changzhou was studied in relation to sustainable utilization of land,water resource,biological resources,and human resources,and a conceptual planning was established,which provided important guarantee for utilizing resource advantage to obtain its ecological and environmental benefits.

Abstract:This paper describes a strategy that establishes a framework for sustaining ecological functions and processes in high density urban sprawl areas. Traditionally, city planning in China is organized around the placement of construction land. Taking Hefei city in China for example, the non-traditional urban planning strategy developed herein is to prioritize the arrangement of non-construction areas by means of hydrological and ecological processes simulation, and to incorporate factors such as urban flood control, stormwater management, and indicator animals. This research has reached the following main conclusions: (1) Sustaining ecological processes in high density urban sprawl areas should be analyzed and solved using a holistic and multi-objective approach; (2) Urban planning should systematically integrate ecological processes with regulating landscape structure, and prioritize the arrangement of non-construction areas; (3) The approach presented herein makes the best use of local natural resource to solve various ecological problems, effectively maintaining the health of urban and regional natural systems, enhancing the services of natural systems for city and local residents, and reducing construction capitals.

Abstract:Introduction: Urban ecological instruction is an important method of sustainable development that couples the needs of the population and the environment, thus facilitating high-quality development. This study aimed to transform existing large-scale considerations of ecological urban construction to provide a more grounded evaluation framework. We constructed an integrated framework that considers economic, environmental, social, cultural, and ecological factors and their contribution to urban ecological construction. Methods: We used methods of subjective and objective empowerment, exploratory spatial data analysis, and the obstacle degree model to explore spatiotemporal variations in urban ecological construction. Results: Our results showed that: (1) From 2006 to 2018, urban ecological construction in the Yellow River basin (YRB) exhibited a "polycentric" spatial differentiation pattern and a significant, gradually decreasing "center-periphery" spatial distribution trend. (2) High–high areas (with high agglomeration and high urban ecological construction) in the YRB are mainly distributed in Shandong Province and the adjacent regions, whereas low–low areas are mainly distributed in south–central Ningxia Province and southern Gansu Province. (3) Analysis of urban ecological construction characteristics across different city scales, functional types, spatial carriers, and basin locations shows that the urban ecological construction level is directly proportional to the scale of the city. The level of urban ecological construction is relatively higher in the Shandong Peninsula urban agglomeration, in the priority development area of the North China Plain, and in the downstream and right bank of the YRB. Spatial differences are mainly controlled by the net difference between regions from the upstream and midstream scales, as well as intra-regional differences between the left and right banks. (4) Marked differences can be observed in the obstacles to ecological construction in different types of cities. Discussion: Typical barriers in cities in the YRB include the total water resources per capita, energy consumption per unit of GDP, the proportion of research and development investment in fiscal expenditure, the number of books in public libraries per 10,000 people, and land use efficiency. In the future, urban ecological construction should be based on the development conditions of each individual city, and should be improved according to local conditions to achieve the construction high-quality ecological cities.
