Abstract:A frequency-hopping signal based on FPGA and AD9777 is designed.The signal source's control circuit core is FPGA,the realization of circuit digital part is based on FPGA.It uses the high-performance AD9777 to achieve digital-analog converter and controls AD9777′s operating mode through the SPI serial communication interface;the frequency-hopping signal source uses the improved L-G model circuit as the frequency hopping sequence generator and direct frequency sine wave generator as frequency-hopping signal source basis.Experimental tests prove that the signal source has good performance and can meet practical engineering requirements.

Abstract:This paper proposes a Frequency Hopping (FH) communication system with a novel frequency synthesis method. Considering that the existing frequency synthesis methods are inevitably limited by the electronic device bandwidth, a combination of directly modulated laser (DML) and optical heterodyne technique is proposed as a hopping frequency source. The principle of the method is presented and a dual frequency hopping system in E band is carried out through simulation to verified the feasibility of the proposed method. This frequency synthesis method supports high radio frequency, ultra-wideband and high hopping speed.

Abstract:In this paper,highly-stable and low phase noise millimeter wave frequency sources areresearched,which are based on military application,the millimeter wave detector applications.In the paper,we analyze the phase noise in the frequency source on the system,and design a frequency source system which can be used for millimeter wave detector.This parper uses the ping-pong type of phase-locked loop to ensure a fast frequency hopping time and low phase noise,using matlab to analysis local oscillator frequency hopping sequence and analysis the experimental results of vibration.

Abstract:After analyzing the impacts of sampling frequency offset on the performance of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing(OFDM) systems,a new sampling frequency synchronization algorithm in frequency domain was proposed and its mathematical analysis was presented.This algorithm was optimized to be easy for hardware implementation,and obtained 20% reduction in logic gates and double speed than the algorithm using least square(LS) method.Matlab simulations were conducted on an 802.11a system platform.Simulation showed that this algorithm worked effectively and fulfilled the standard requirements in both the additive white Gaussian noise(AWGN) channel and the multi-patch channel.The algorithm was successfully implemented on an 802.11a field programmable gate array(FPGA) platform.On-chip real-time analysis of the algorithm using Xilinx Chipscope Pro demonstrate that this algorithm can work efficiently and effectively as ablock of an OFDM baseband receiver processor.
ICA Based Anti-Jamming Method of Frequency Hopping Communication Against Comb Jamming

Abstract:Comb jamming is one of the most common jamming signals,which seriously deteriorates frequency hopping communication.According to the statistical independence character between the frequency hopping signal and the CJ(comb jamming) signal,ICA(independent component analysis) was introduced into the anti-jamming problem of frequency hopping communication.A novel independent component analysis based anti-jamming method of frequency hopping against comb jamming was proposed.The object function was chosen based on the statistical independence between the output signals,and the object function induced the iteration of the unmixing matrix.When the unmixing matrix is estimated,the frequency hopping signal and the comb jamming signal are separated effectively from the product of the received signals and the unmixting matrix.Simulation results indicate that the proposed method can obviously enhance the anti-jamming ability of frequency hopping communication against comb jamming.For the bit error ratio of 10-3,the anti-jamming ability of frequency hopping communication under comb jamming can be improved by more than 8 dB with the proposed method.

Abstract:A method of the design and implementation of frequency-hopping signal source based on chaotic sequence is proposed.This method,based on FPGA,uses Logistic chaotic circuit as the frequency hopping sequence generator and direct digital frequency synthesize generator as frequency hopping signal source basis,and realizes frequency synthesis on FPGA and digital-analog converting using high-performance AD9777.Experimental tests prove that the signal source has good performance and can meet practical engineering requirements.

Abstract:By combining traditional frequency hopping ideas with the concepts of subcarriers and sampling points in OFDM baseband systems, this paper proposes a frequency hopping technology within the baseband called micro frequency hopping. Based on the concept of micro frequency hopping, this paper proposes a micro frequency hopping spread spectrum modulation method based on cyclic frequency shift and cyclic time shift, as well as a micro frequency hopping encryption method based on phase scrambling of baseband signals. Specifically, this paper reveals a linear micro frequency hopping symbol with good auto-correlation and cross-correlation feature in both time domain and frequency domain. Linear micro frequency hopping symbols with different root $R$ have good cross-correlation feature, which can be used in multi-user communication at same time and same frequency. Moreover, there is a linear relationship between the time delay and frequency offset of this linear micro frequency hopping symbol, making it suitable for time delay and frequency offset estimation, also for ranging, and speed measurement. Finally, this paper also verifies the advantages of micro frequency hopping technology through an example of a linear micro frequency hopping spread spectrum multiple access communication system. The author believes that micro frequency hopping technology will be widely used in fields such as the Internet of Things, military communication, satellite communication, satellite positioning, and radar etc.

Abstract:In this paper, we present a simulation model for the decoding of the UHF (Ultra High Frequency) RFID (Radio Frequency IDentiflcation) signals utilizing MATLAB/Simulink. A digital phase-locked loop (DPLL) was designed for recovering the external clock which is used for the bit synchronization and sampling. The IDs are well recovered under the existence of an additive signal noise ratio (SNR).

Abstract:Combining theory and a practical project, a generation of hopping patterns with fast exponent algorithm and non linear transferring matrix transformation is proposed on the basis of research achievements available. The complexity of this algorithm has an increasing pattern of logarithm, so it possesses the advantage of fast calculation. Moreover, the frequency hopping sequences generated are of randomness and regularity when the transferring matrix reaches its maximum rank. By computer simulation, a statistic study on the performance of frequencies collision is conducted for reference in theory or practical fields.

Abstract:A FFA and TFA based interception of LPI frequency hopping signal is presented in this paper. the algorithm can detect the frequency hopping signal effectively in low Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR); By selecting the range of the folding period and resolution properly, the parameters of frequency hopping signal such as hop duration, time offset and hop frequency can be estimated. Finally, simulation and performance analysis illustrate that the algorithm can intercept the frequency hopping signal under 0dB, and has better performance than the adaptive threshold detection.

Abstract:A significant challenge in Frequency hopping (FH) communications is accurately identifying the target FH signals within the multiplexed spectrum. This letter proposes a recognition scheme that combines time-frequency analysis with deep learning to overcome the degradation of recognizing multiple FH signals amidst complex electromagnetic interference. The scheme utilizes the synchroextracting transform to obtain the spectrogram of the mixed signal by aggregating the energy, then employs RFRM-CenterNet with enhanced small-object detection capability to extract the features and to precisely identify FH signals. Simulation results demonstrate that the scheme improves the accuracy and robustness of multiplexing FH recognition.

Abstract:The frequency-hopping communication system has been widely used in anti-jamming communication due to its anti-interception and anti-jamming performance. With the increasingly complex electromagnetic environment, the frequency-hopping communication system needs more flexible frequency-hopping patterns to deal with interferences, which brings great challenges to the communication receiver. In this paper, an intelligent receiving scheme of frequency-hopping sequences is proposed, which combines time–frequency analysis with deep learning to realize an intelligent estimation of frequency-hopping sequences. A hybrid network module is designed by combining a convolutional neural network (CNN) with a gated recurrent unit (GRU). In the proposed network module, the combination of a residual network (ResNet) and squeeze and extraction (SE) improves the feature extraction and expression capabilities of the CNN network. The GRU network is proposed to solve the problem of dealing with signals with variant input lengths. A transfer learning scheme is further proposed to deal with communications systems with different frequency-hopping sets. Simulation results show that the proposed method has strong generalization ability and robustness, and the bit error rate (BER) performance of intelligent receiving is close to the receiving performance under ideal conditions.

Abstract:Microwave frequency-hopping signal generation is one of the backbone components in modern wireless communication system. In this paper, we propose a novel photoelectric integrated approach to implement broadband microwave frequency-hopping signal generation. The coherent dual optical combs are constituted by two Mach Zehnder modulators (MZMs) and one acousto-optic frequency modulator (AOM). By using dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) and single-sideband modulation with carrier suppression, the proposed method extends the input signal's frequency hopping bandwidth by six times. Due to the photoelectric hybrid structure, the proposed method can achieve precise control for using electronic technology while also providing the advantages of high bandwidth and reconfigurability through photonics. In the experiment, the frequencies of generated signals can hop ranging from 0 to 6GHz. Meanwhile, the frequency hopping signals can maintain a well signal quality with the EVM lower than 6.4%.

According to this method, the TOD(Time of Date)message for FH synchronization is transmitted with both error correction code and direct sequence (DS) spread spectrum. The method has good performance both in Fixed Broadband Jamming and Tracing Jamming environment.

Abstract:In this paper, an all digital baseband frequency-hopping orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) system based on sampling rate conversion has been proposed. By changing the ratio of sampling rate conversion, the frequency hopping (FH) gain can be configured easily. Comparing with the conventional fixed carrier frequency OFDM, this system can achieve frequency diversity gain; while comparing with the analog frequency hopping OFDM (FH-OFDM) emerging recently, our proposed system has more flexibility, lower complexity, and better acquisition and synchronization performance for digital receiver. Superimposed sequence has been employed as the training sequence for synchronization and channel estimation, unlike preamble sequence inserted in time domain and pilot subcarriers inserted in frequency domain, this scheme can improve spectrum efficiency at the cost of a little bit SNR loss, moreover, it can perform joint FH pattern acquisition and frame synchronization for the proposed system simultaneously. Simulation results show that the proposed system has better performance than non-FH system, and achieves good SER performance over additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channels as well as multipath channels. The power ratio of superimposed signal to information signal provides a way of trade-off between SNR loss and synchronization performance. Changing the power ratio also affects the system performance.

Abstract:The synchronous process of frequency-hopping signals is the key technology in FH system.In order to reduce the difficult of synchronization in meshed FH network,a new issue which is based on double frequency hopping program and Chaotic Sequence has been promoted.In the modeling process,use a distributed hopping sequences which generated by chaotic system and a parallel demodulator structure to achieve the dual-frequency hopping timing control.The simulation results shows that the solution has a good performance in slow FH system when refers to the partial band jamming and single-tone jamming,and obtain a little time-consuming and high stability.

Abstract:A variable frequency hopping (VFH) signal is a kind of frequency hopping (FH) signal that varies both in frequency and dwell time. However, in radio surveillance, the existing methods for unidentified signals using VFH cannot be effectively handled. In this paper, we proposed an improved joint analysis method based on time-–frequency domain features, which adopts multi-level processing to solve the time–frequency domain feature analysis problem of the VFH signal. First, the received signal is pre-processed by Short-Time Fourier Transform (STFT) and binarization, and a highly discriminative time–frequency image is obtained; then, the fixed frequency signal is removed based on the feature of connected domains, and the conventional frequency hopping (CFH) signal is removed by density-based spatial clustering of applications with noise (DBSCAN); finally, the overlapping region is cropped by the joint energy peak time–domain continuity properties. After the above multi-level joint processing method, the problem of VFH signal processing is effectively solved. The simulation result shows that the Mean Square Error (MSE) between the output results and the time–frequency image of the original VFH signal tends to be close to 0 when the Signal-to-Noise ratio (SNR) is 5 dB.

Abstract:The increasing demands to enhance information security in data transmission, providing countermeasures against jamming in military applications, as well as boosting data capacity in mobile and satellite communication, have led to a critical need for high-speed frequency-hopping systems. Conventional electronics-based frequency-hopping systems suffer from low data rate, low hopping speed, and narrow hopping-frequency bandwidth. Unfortunately, those are important aspects to facilitate frequency-hopping in emerging microwave systems. The recent advancement of microwave photonics—the use of light to process microwave signals—provides promising solutions to tackle the challenges faced by electronic frequency-hopping systems. In this paper, the challenges of achieving real-time frequency-hopping systems are examined. The operation principles and results of various microwave photonics-enabled frequency-hopping systems are comprehensively discussed, which have wide hopping-frequency bandwidth and frequency-hopping speed from nanoseconds to tens of picoseconds. Lastly, a bio-inspired jamming-avoidance system that could potentially be used for adaptive frequency-hopping is also introduced.

Abstract:Frequency Hopping (FH) is an important means for anti-jamming in aircraft data link. However, there exists two main weaknesses in existing FH systems, i.e., the low communication resource (frequency, time) utilization rate when there are more than two users in the communication network, and lacking of extra ability to resist spot jamming. In order to cope with these weaknesses, in this paper, we propose a novel frequency hopping scheme based on the spectrum sensing of Cognitive Radio, which increases the resource utilization rate of FH system by allotting resources in real time, while reduces the spot jamming by sensing the communications environment. Considering the high cost of too many resource-allotting, we also propose a novel method which allots resources unevenly as a compromise to get higher resource utilization rate with fewer times of resource-allotting. The BER and other performance metrics of our scheme are studied through comparative simulations.
