Abstract:As a part of the culture, names reflect different cultural contents in different countries, and they can be traced back into the history of the country. English names, as in any country, have their unique ways of expression and can be classified into many categories according to the meanings they reveal. By doing the classification, it is easy to see the influence of historical events, natural environment, occupation, religion, and other cultural elements upon the names, also the various wishes people cherish when they choose those nouns as their names.
