Abstract:The interfacial property, particularly the wettability and the roughness of the solid surface, has very significant importance in the study of the heterogeneous nucleation, the growing dynamics of the bubbles and droplets, the condensation of the vapor, and the boiling crisis, etc. A great attention has increasingly been paid to understand the contact angle and the associated interfacial phenomena due to a wide variety of practical applications. The contact angle measurement is an effective method among the surficial sensitive technique by which a lot of useful information about the solid surface can be acquired, e.g. the solid surface tension, wettability, roughness and homogeneity etc. The process and the common methods of the contact angle measurement technique on flat plate were described in detail in this paper.
