Nutrient Analysis and Immune Regulation Study on Extract of Sipunculidae

Abstract:PurposeTo assay concentration of protein, amino acids and trace elements in the extract of Sipunculidae and to investigate its immune regulation on mice.MethodsThe extract of Sipunculidae was obtained from Sipunculidae with 10 mmol/L PB, pH 7.2, containing 0.1mol/L NaCl. Further purification was achieved by ultra-filtration and precipitation with 70% alcohol. Kjeldahl′s method, Automatic Amino Acid Analyzer and plasma emission spectrometer were used to assay protein, amino acids and trace elements.The method of MTT was used to determine the effects of this extract on the proliferation of T lymphocytes.ResultsThe extract of Sipunculidae contains 55.3% protein,18 kinds of amino acids and 8 kinds of trace elements.It markedly enhanced the weight index of thymus and spleen and enhanced the proliferation of spleen T lymphocytes.ConclusionThe extract of Sipunculidae contains higher Amino acids and trace elements.It can enhance the immunity of mice.
