An Annotate Checklist of Butterflies in Jiangsu Province

Abstract:A total of 4 500 butterfly specimens were collected during the period of 1995～2002,which belong to 178 species,105 genera and 10 families.They are:20 species of (9 genera) in Papilionidae,1 species of 1 genus in Parnassiidae,17 species of 7 genus in Pieridae,2 species of 2 genus in Danaidae,23 species of 11 genus in Satyridae,42 species of (27 genera) in Nymphalidae,1 species of 1 genus in Acraea,1 species of 1 genus in Libytheidea,(34 species) of 22 genus in Lycaniidea,and 37 species of 24 genus in Hesperidae.45 species are newly recorded for Jiangsu butterfly fauna.
