Abstract:Presents the crucial techniques of hardware and software designing applied to wireless signal sampling device in electrocardiogram monitoring.This type of device is designed with the functions of sampling,filtering,wireless transmitting,and characterized with portable,low-power,anti-interference,intelligent,etc.The system is controlled by MSP430 singlechip.It filters and amplifies the signal and send data wirelessly.Experiments indicate the system is suitable for continuous monitoring.

Abstract:Previous electronic cardiac graphic(ECG) simulation works alwaysignore the displacement of the equivalent dipole region caused by heart throb in one cardiac cycle,which made their models' output electrocardiograms have unavoidable errors especially during the ST-T segment.Based on the analysis of electrocardic and mechanical physiology of the human heart,we try to impose the mechanical factor on our electronic heart model.So a new dynamic electronic heart model was constructed.Comparing these two models' output BSPM under the normal and ischemia situation,we found the new model improved the precision of the ECG simulation.This research work substantiates the importance of the mechanical factor in the ECG simulation, and provider a new orientation for exploring the further electrocardiographic forward problem and inverse problem.
Design of a Novel Portable ECG Monitor for Heart Health

Abstract:Using the ECG analog front-end and ARM Cortex-M3 processor to develop a portable ECG monitor. The STM32 as the core unit, the ADS1292 as the acquisition analog front-end, it also includes a touch screen display module, an SD card storage module and a voltage conversion module. Automatic ECG analysis algorithms including QRS complex detection, QRS width detection and ST segment detection. ECG can be divided into four kinds of heart beat and eight kinds of arrhythmia rhythm using the extracted ECG parameters. The results have been evaluated on the MIT-BIH Arrhythmia Database, the sensitivity of QRS complex detection was 99% and the sensitivity of heart beat classification was above 95%. The monitor can display the real-time ECG waveform and the current heart rate, to make recommendations for the subjects, and it stored the abnormal ECG waveform that provided to physicians for further analysis and diagnosis. Ultimately the monitor gives a composite score based on heart rate, arrhythmia and ST segment to facilitate subjects for heart health.

Abstract:This paper designs a household ECG monitoring system based on virtual instrument technology. Its mobile terminal collects the ECG information, and then the information is transmitted to the virtual analyzer via the wireless communication module, so that realizing information sharing with medical institutions through the Internet. The paper introduces the design and implementation of the mobile terminal and virtual analyzer. Experiments show that the household ECG based on virtual instrument technology has a humanity interface, powerful analysis and extension function, in accordance with the trend of miniaturization, modularization and networking.

Abstract:ECG generator has been widely used in medical education and training, equipment evaluation and research. Two kinds of signal are used in existing ECG generator, one is the stored real ECG signal, and the other is the simulated signal composed of mathematic function curves. We tried to explore a new way of ECG simulation which could generate a variety of ECG signal flexibly. Through the method of combining a single beat ECG template database and a RR interval simulator, a variety of ECG signal with freely pre-set features could be simulated. In addition to the flexibility and fidelity in generating simulated ECG signal, the whole process could be done on a platform with limited calculating resource and memory.

Abstract:For the purpose of better preventing cardiovascular diseases and improving the life quality of human beings,a scheme of an electrocardiogram(ECG)monitoring system based on wireless system-on-chip technology is presented in this paper.Firstly,the hardware design of the ECG signal sampler and the base station is shown in detail,including the design of the amplification circuit and the choice of the MCU-wireless system-on-chip package.Secondly,the wireless communication protocol between the ECG signal sampler and the base station is determined,based upon which the software for the ECG signal sampler is developed.Thirdly,the initialization and communication protocols between the base station and the remote monitoring center are determined,based upon which applications programs are developed.Lastly,the remote monitoring center is described.With the integration of wireless system-on-chip technique,wireless communication technique,embedded system technique and internet technique,the system finally fulfill the goal of remote ECG monitoring.

Abstract:In this work, we proposed and verified that a noncontact measurement to the human cardiogram could be implemented based on the inner connection between the bioelectrical signals that control the diastole and systole of human hearts and the volume change of atriums and ventricles taking place at the surface of skin. A K-band, board-integrated, highly linear and sensitive Doppler radar sensor was designed and implemented to detected such weak motions. Experimental results showed that by linearly retrieving the Doppler information from the signals scattered by the skin, the cardiogram can be measured. While the correspondence between this kind of cardiogram and the conventional ECG can be observed. And the cardiogram also includes velocity and strength information of the atrial and ventricular contractions and relaxations. Such characteristics are highly desirable for hospitalization and personal daily healthcare.

Abstract:Electrocardiogram (ECG) is a biological signal which reflects the electronic excitement of cardiac activities and vital signs. As a kind of signal time marker, the parameter information of ECG, such as R wave amplitude and RR period, plays an important part in clinic. According to the traditional characteristics of ECG signal, an ECG automatic analysis system is designed based on virtual instruments. The system based on LabVIEW 2012, which is applied to analyze ECG signal real-time, also has the feature of high efficiency development and good flexibility. ECG signal can be analyzed automatically in this system and the feature point can be displayed at the same time.

Abstract:This paper introduces the design of a device which combines the waves with notes from standard MIT-BIH Arrhythmia Database to generate a signal source. The device displays both waves and notes on LCD while the waves are being output, making things convenient for testing and observation. In addition, this generator includes some necessary test signals stated in our new National Industry Standard on Medical Instrumentation as well.

Abstract:Electrocardiograph (ECG) is a diagnostic tool that can record the electrical activity of the human heart. By analyzing the resulting waveforms of the recorded electrical activity of the heart, it is possible to record and diagnose disease. Given the importance of the ECG recording device, it is necessary to check the function of the ECG recording device, namely by performing a device calibration procedure using the Phantom ECG which aims to simulate the ECG signal. The purpose of this research is to check the ECG device during repairs, besides that the Electrocardiograph (EKG) tool functions for research purposes on ECG signals or for educational purposes. Electrocardiograph (EKG) simulator or often called Phantom ECG is in principle a signal generator in the form of an ECG like signal or a recorded ECG signal. This device can be realized based on microcontroller and analog circuit. The advantage of this simulator research is that the ECG signal displayed is the original ECG recording and has an adequate ECG signal database. ECG This simulator also has the advantage of providing convenience for research on digital signal processing applications for ECG signal processing. In its application this simulator can be used as a tool to study various forms of ECG signals. Based on the measurement results, the error value at BPM 30 and 60 is 0.00% at the sensitivity of 0.5mV, 1.0mV, and 2.0mV, then the measurement results for the error value at BPM 120 are 0.33% and at the BPM 180 value, the error value is 0.22%. From these results, it can be concluded that the highest error value is at BPM 120 with sensitivities of 0.5mV, 1.0mV, and 2.0mV.

Abstract:Most medical instruments invented to measure human heart activities, such as electrocardiograms (ECGs), rely on contact electrodes. This causes discomfort and limits application scenarios. Remote acquisition of mu V-level bioelectrical cardiac signals through ECG measurement is theoretically challenging. Based on the analysis of magnetic resonance imaging to the volume change of human hearts, we found that a single radar sensor can be used to remotely detect a Doppler cardiogram (DCG) at a distance up to 1 m, by retrieving Doppler signals induced by combined atrial and ventricular motions conducted to the skin of the back chest. This DCG can provide all the timing information of the P-wave, QRS-waves, and T-wave carried in ECGs. The implemented miniature remote sensor could be an ideal portable instrument for patients, such as burn victims, extending application scenarios to personal healthcare, battlefield rescue, and others.

Abstract:Objective To research and construct dynamic electrocardiograph (ECG) simulation model/algorithm to simulate different kinds of clinical ECG,where the heart rate can be infinitely variable,and to develop one platform for fast-demo and analysis of theoretical wave based on this algorithm which can be implemented in ECG training and teaching. Methods According to different characteristics decoupled one complete ECG wave to 4 parts,including P-wave,PR-section,QT -wave and TP -section. P -wave and QT -wave database were set up accordingly to find the relationship algorithm between PR-section and heart rate,TP-section and heart rate. With the synthesis work of the algorithm and clinical diagnosis theory,ECG simulation mathematical model /algorithm,dynamic link library.(dll) and software interface were developed by C++. Results Through comparing the ECG simulation results with clinical samples,the veracity and validity of the mathematical model/algorithm was verified. Conclusion The software module based on this model/algorithm is very valuable for ECG training and teaching in clinic,and can be implemented in the development of more advanced ECG relative software and devices.
An EEG Generator Capable of Reconstructing Signals from Any EDF File and Simulating Human Body EEG Collection Environment

Abstract:In Electroencephalogram(EEG)-related research, it's common to require EEG signals for testing, often collected directly from the human body. This paper introduces a low-cost MCU-based EEG signal generator that can be used for early validation testing of EEG-related circuits and systems. The generator reads data through PC software or a TF card and generates waveforms using the MCU's DAC ports, allowing for the faithful reproduction of signals from any EDF/BDF file. The amplitude of the generated signals matches real EEG amplitudes. We have designed standard calibration signals with frequency and amplitude errors of less than 1%. The results show that our design produces signals with excellent resolution and real-time capability, accurately simulating EEG signals collected from the human body, meeting the requirements for most teaching and testing scenarios.

Abstract:The portable monitor device has been developed based on an 80C196KC Micro-controller that can store ECG data for 8 hours. The 16-bity micro-controller is the core unit. It also includes Flash memory as storage module, Socket modem as communication module, touch-pad keyboard, blood data interface, LCD display module, and power supply conversion module. The significant feature is that, it integrated the functions of sampling, analysis, storage, and displaying together. It can monitor the ECG and identify abnormal waves dynamically. It can also send out an alarm by transmitting the ECG and blood pressure data to the hospital center through the telephone line when it is necessary and receive the doctor's medical advices. The software of the device can detect six kinds of arrhythmia and display the ECG waves, heart rate (HR), and the numbers of PVC and PAC. By testing with some of the MIT ECG data, the result indicated the hardware design was reasonable and the software of ECG analysis algorithm, the real-time operation and veracity of disease detection met our requirements. The veracity of QRS detection is up to 99.9% and the arrhythmia detection is up to 95%.

This paper has a comparative study and designs two typical ECG devices, one is the sport monitor-SenseON which is a small and stylish, the other one is the medical monitor-CareON. This paper also discusses the future trends.

Abstract:The programmed multifunction electrophysiological heart stimulator is designed on the basis of 89C55, and its hardware de-sign circuit and software system structure is presented. A RS2+RS3 stimulation pattern is added to the traditional impulse stimulation pattern. This stimulator is equipped with a high resolution LCD for ECG and stimulation impulse display, with friendly operation in-terface for convenience of the user; capable of enlarging, shrinking, freezing and playback control display of the waveform; with cell power supply mode for fast and convenient use; and with better security.

Abstract:As the most important organ of human circulatory system, the importance of heart is self-evident. At present, electrocardiogram (ECG) detection is widely used in clinic, but it is not conducive to long-term and real-time detection, which is easy to cause burden to patients and may miss the best treatment period. In this paper, a Insentience detection system based on the Seismocardiogram (SCG) signal is designed. The mechanical movement of the heart is measured by the pressure sensor under the object in close contact with the tester. The waveform and the related parameters of detected SCG signal are displayed on portable display device in real time. Experimental results conducted in the real environments shows that by comparing with synchronous extraction of ECG signal, the system can detect the SCG signal real-time and display the signal.

Abstract:Electrocardiogram (ECG) monitoring has been widely explored in detecting and diagnosing cardiovascular diseases due to its accuracy, simplicity, and sensitivity. However, medical- or commercial-grade ECG monitoring devices can be costly for people who want to monitor their ECG on a daily basis. These devices typically require several electrodes to be attached to the human body which is inconvenient for continuous monitoring. To enable low-cost measurement of ECG signals with off-the-shelf devices on a daily basis, in this paper, we propose a novel ECG sensing system that uses acceleration data collected from a smartphone. Our system offers several advantages over previous systems, including low cost, ease of use, location and user independence, and high accuracy. We design a two-tiered denoising process, comprising SWT and Soft-Thresholding, to effectively eliminate interference caused by respiration, body, and hand movements. Finally, we develop a multi-level deep learning recovery model to achieve efficient, real-time and user-independent ECG measurement on commercial mobile phones. We conduct extensive experiments with 30 participants (with nearly 36,000 heartbeat samples) under a user-independent scenario. The average errors of the PR interval, QRS interval, QT interval, and RR interval are 12.02 ms, 16.9 ms, 16.64 ms, and 1.84 ms, respectively. As a case study, we also demonstrate the strong capability of our system in signal recovery for patients with common heart diseases, including tachycardia, bradycardia, arrhythmia, unstable angina, and myocardial infarction.
