Effectiveness of Prostaglandin E1on hypoxic pulmonary hypertension in pig

Abstract:Objectives　To investigate the effect of Prostagla n din E1on hemodynamic,blood gas analysis and lung function in animals with acu te hypoxic pulmonary hypertension.Methods　Indices of hemodyna mic,blood gas analysis and lung function were detected before and after injectin g Prostaglandin E1in experimental pigs. While the same indices were detected in controls.Results　Afer injecting intravenously Prostaglanden E1injection,the mean value of pulmonary artery pressure was significantly de creased than that before injecting Prostaglandin E1 in pigs and it was signif icantly decreased than that in controls(P＜0.01)；Cardiac Index was increase d in treatment group than that before injecting Prostaglandin E1 in pigs and it was increased than that in controls(P＜0.05).Blood gas analysis,lung func tion were not different between groups(P＞0.05).Conclusions　The results suggested that Prostaglandin E1 could significantly decline the p ulmonary artery pressure and increase the cardiac output in animals with acute h ypoxic pulmonary hypertension.
