Problems of environmental engineering geology for city construction

Abstract:Nowadays, a number of people continuously come into cities with quick development of social economy and culture, city scale grows with each passing day and city number is on the increase, these are inevitable outcome of the course of social history. City is a kind of compound environment of artificial environment and geological environment. City construction always remakes and remolds geological environment,and geological environment conversely restricts development of city construction. City construction draws forth more and more problems of environmental engineering geology. This paper makes a review of the outstanding problems of environmental engineering geology for city construction which are program of using land, hydrogeology of water supply, harm of solid waste, earth subsidence, tectonic steady and earth quake, groundwater pollution and so on, and clarifies the writer's opinions on these problems.
