Localization,Distribution and Developmental Expression of Interleukin (IL)-1 beta and IL-6 in the Testis and Epididymis of Jianchang Black Goat

Abstract:[Objective]To examine the location and distribution of Interleukin-1 beta (IL-1β)and IL-6 in the testis,head and tail of epididymis of Jianchang black goat and the developmental ex-pression levels of IL-1βand IL-6.[Method]The tissues of the testis and epididymis of 16 goats were collected from the 55-day,104-day,300-day and 1 140-day old (4 repeats in each age group) to immunostain IL-1βand IL-6 respectively.[Results]The results showed that IL-1βand IL-6 were detected in spermatogonium of seminal tubes from 55-day,104-day,300-day and 1 140-day old goats,and IL-1βwas localized in the connective tissue of testis from 55-day and 104-day old goats,and IL-6 was expressed in the basal layer of seminal tube from 300-day and 1 140-day old goats.In the head and tail of epididymis,IL-1βand IL-6 were localized both in basal cells and cili-ated columnar epithelium.The expression levels of IL-1βand IL-6 had a significant decrease from 55-day to 300-day in spermatogonium (P <0.05),while they had significant increases in develop-mental time (P < 0.05 )in connective tissue of the testis and basal cell of seminal tube.The change in expression level of IL-1βand IL-6 in the head of epididymis was not significant in devel-opmental time (P >0.05).However,IL-1βexpression level at 300-day of ciliated columnar epi-thelium in the tail of epididymis was significantly lower than that at 55-day and 105-day (P <0.05 ),and expression level of IL-6 in ciliated columnar epithelium of the tail of epididymis at 105-day was significantly higher than that at 55-day (P <0.05).[Conclusion]Both of IL-1βand IL-6 were detected in the testis and epididymis of Jianchang black goat,and their expression levels were associated with developmental time.
