Expression and Its Clinical Significance of CD40-CD40L in Peripheral Blood of Patients with Systemic Lupus Erythmatosus

Abstract:Objective To insestigate the expression and its clinical significance o f CD40and CD40L on lymphocytes of patients with systemic lupus erythmatosus (SLE).Methods The expression of CD40and CD40L on lymphocyte,or on CD4 + T lympho-cytes,or on CD3-lymphocytes from patients with SLE and from controls were measured by flow c ytometry.Results The expression of CD40L on lymphocytes,and on CD4 + T lymphocyte s from patients with SLE both increased markedly.There was not significant difference between the SLE group and control group.Conclusions T he CD40-CD40L co-stimulalive molecules plays an important role in the pat hogenesis of SLE.CD40L up-regulating on lymphocyte s was the more important phenomenon.
