Antibiotics Inhibition to Agrobaceterium Rhizogenes and Effect to Tea Multiple Shoots

Abstract:Effects of three antibiotics on inhibition ofAgrobacterium RhizogenesLBA4404 and 15834, bud formation and growth ofteaplantwere studied. The results showedthatcefotaximesodiumand timentin can completely inhibitthe growth ofAgrobacteriumLBA9402 and 15834, however,carbenicillin only inhibit LBA9402 bacteriumbut not 15834bacterium.Bud regenerationand growth are significantly inhibited bycefotaximesodium and carbenicillintreatment. There is no significant difference betweenTimentin (≤400mg·L-1) treatment and control without antibiotics on bud regeneration and growth of tea culture seedlings. Timentin is a good alternative antibiotic to eliminateAgrobacterium tumefaciensin tea plantgenetic transformationsystem.
