The Relationship Between EB Virus and Esophageal Carcinoma

Abstract:Objective: To study the relationship between EB virus and esophageal carcinoma. Methods: EB virus DNA was examined by two temperature polymerase chain reaction cycles from 89 biopsy tissues with different esophageal lesions. The amplified product 121 bp DNA was in EB virus Bam W zone. Results: The EB virus infection postive rate was 6.3% (3/48) for esophageal carcinoma, the control was all EB virus DNA negative. Conclusion: The EB virus infection positive rate was low in esophageal carcinoma. The relationship between EB virus and esophageal carcinoma is to be investigated further.
