Coal-based Industrial Metabolism and Ecological Optimization

Abstract:Industrial ecology is an emerging concept for the promotion of sustainable production and consumption. Industrial metabolism which is one of the main methods of industrial ecology uses the concept of natural ecology to put human's manufacture action and social activity into nature. By tracing and analyzing the flow of material and energy, we can find out the reason of pollution and the way of treatment. This paper tries to use the metabolic method to analyze the pollution in the industrial processes of the coal based industries and to give an optimal solution for the ecological improvement.
