Abstract:Presently some feature phone and embedded OS aren’t virtual address, they can’t update modules or load new application dynamically, it needs re-compile and link all system software, this will limit the flexibility and extension of the system. If we can implement the dynamic load of the module and application, we will improve the system flexibility and extension. This paper introduces the dynamic load solution, such as run the dynamic module, position independence code and the call of system interface, it gives the reference implantation also, and verified in one feature phone, it works as design. At last, the paper analyzes the system security and next step extension.

Abstract:Mobile phones have been popular personal devices in recent years. They are used not only the communication tools but also an integrated platform with the support from powerful hardware. Rich applications are also provided for mobile phones. The problem of software development becomes more acute with the great advance of mobile phones and the applications. It is also a challenge on how to teach software development for mobile phones to the students. The operating system and the related APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) play an important role in this issue. In this paper, we describe a case study of course design for software development on mobile phones. We select OMS (Open Mobile System) and its APIS as the basic development system. The students can master the basic skills in mobile software programming. And our design can also connect the education with the needs of the industry.

Abstract:As mobile communication technology boosts the available network bandwidth,mobile streaming media service becomes a popular application.In this paper,we propose a music player system "MMusic"based on Symbian OS.MMF(Multimedia Framework) for Series60 platform is applied in this player.The music player can carry out functions such as playing back of local music and online radio,as well as music downloading,lyrics downloading and display.The paper mainly focuses on the architecture design and implementation of the media client.

From the overall view of application development, this paper describes a Java-based application development platform (JADP) for the mobile system. Our platform¿s features include flexible remote debugger, rich APIs and service components, efficient deploy tool etc. Mobile device applications developers can now easily develop, optimize, deploy and verify their applications with our Java development platform.

Abstract:Mobile computing is popular when wireless network has been deployed almost everywhere. Smartphones have been the important tools in our society for the abundant functions including communication, entertainment and online office etc as the pivotal devices of mobile computing. Smartphone software development has also become more important than before. Android is one of the emerging leading operating systems for smartphones as an open source system platform. Many smartphones have adopted this platform and more smartphones will do so in the future. It is also an emerging problem on how to develop software for smartphones based on Android and those platforms like it. We propose smartphone software development course design based on Android in this paper. What this course focuses is how to teach the development technology to Students. The course design has two parts including the syllabus design and hands-on lab design. At the same time, the innovations are also described in detail and these innovations play a key role in the teaching.

Abstract:This paper introduced the basic principles of QR code recognition, designed a QR code recognition system based on the Symbian smartphone, and presented the key problems that should be noted when the system is implemented on Symbian OS. The tests showed that the system could recognize the QR code quickly and correctly, and cope with the inclination of QR code symbol and projection deformation.

Abstract:Android and iSO are the two mobile platforms present in almost all smartphones build during last years. Developing an application that targets both platforms is a challenge. A traditional way is to build two different apps, one in Java for Android, the other in Objective-C for iOS. Xamarin is a framework for developing Android and iOS apps which allows developers to share most of the application code across multiple implementations of the app, each for a specific platform. In this paper, we present XamForumDB, a database that stores discussions, questions and answers extracted from the Xamarin forum. We envision research community could use it for studying, for instance, the problematic of developing such kind of applications.

Abstract:The era of the PC platform left a legacy of competitive strategies for the future technologies to follow. However, this notion became more complicated, once the future grew out to be a present with huge bundle of innovative technologies, Internet capabilities, communication possibilities, and ease in life. A major step of moving from a product phone to a smart phone, eventually to a mobile device has created a new industry with humongous potential for further developments. The current mobile platform market is witnessing a platforms-war with big players such as Apple, Google, Nokia and Microsoft in a major role. An important aspect of today's mobile platform market is the contributions made through open source initiatives which promote innovation. This paper gives an insight into the open-source software strategies of the leading players and its implications on the market. It first gives a precise overview of the past leading to the current mobile platform market share state. Then it briefs about the open-source software components used and released by Apple, Google and Nokia platforms, leading to their mobile platform strategies with regard to open source. Finally, the paper assesses the situation from the point of view of communities of software developers complementing each platform. The authors identified relevant implications of the open-source phenomenon in the mobile-industry.
