Abstract:A field experiment was carried out to study the effects of 3herbicides(butralin,s-metolachlor and starane)on urease and alkaline phosphatase activities in oat field soil. The results showed that herbicides had significant effects on soil urease activity. With the increase of herbicide concentration, urease activity under butralin increased significantly;s-metolachlor increased soil urease activity at low concentration;and then with the increasing concentration, urease activity dropped to the control level.Soil urease activity increased gradually with the increasing concentration of starane.Alkaline phosphatase activity increased with the increasing concentration of the 3herbicides.But with the prolonging of time, the activity of alkaline phosphatase decreased.Enzyme activity in different soil depth had different response to herbicides and their concentrations.High dose of butralin and starane caused the highest urease activation rate in 0~5cm soil layer, while low dosage of s-metolachlor led as high as 88.1%~181.6%urease activation rate in 5~10cm soil layer. For alkaline phosphatase, the activation rates of butralin and starane were the highest in 0~5cm soil layer, while s-metolachlor achieved 27.0%to 129.1%in 10~15cm soil layer. Urease and alkaline phosphatase activation degree affected by the three herbicides was s-metolachlor starane butralin.
