Abstract:AbstractThe limitations such as non-universal, interactive blocking and application specificity are common in existing robot programming languages. So, a universal robot programming language based on VB(Visual Basic) scripting language is designed in this paper. The language is aim to achieve the mixed programming of robot instruction and VB scripting language by doing the constructible and interactive design for robot command functions. Finally, a robot language programming motion simulation platform was designed to verify the implementation process of the programming language. Simulation results show the designed robot programming language can realize flexible programming under the Windows platform and further realize complex robot motion control and sensing interaction function, which provides a new way for the practice and extension of robot programming language system.
A Language-based Approach to Service Deployment

Abstract:This paper presents a language-based approach to service deployment. The language is called Abacus, which is a service-oriented programming language for grid applications. In Abacus, a service is abstracted as a basic language construct, and service deployment is expressed by a deployment statement. This approach allows an Abacus application to automatically deploy a service at runtime without any configuration information. This paper compares the development detail in the Abacus environment with that in the manual deployment environment, and evaluates our deployment approach accordingly. On the one hand, this approach frees maintainers from annoying deployment work at low-level, which helps to enhance the productivity in building grid applications. On the other hand, this approach allows services to be deployed according to the application logic, helping to improve the utilization and the management of various grid resources

Abstract:Programming video tutorials showcase programming tasks and associated workflows. Although video tutorials are easy to create, it is often difficult to explore the captured workflows and interact with the programs in the videos. In this work, we propose a tool named VTRevolution -- an interactive programming video tutorial authoring system. VTRevolution has two components: 1) a tutorial authoring system leverages operating system level instrumentation to log workflow history while tutorial authors are creating programming video tutorials; 2) a tutorial watching system enhances the learning experience of video tutorials by providing operation history and timeline-based browsing interactions. Our tutorial authoring system does not require any special recording tools or instrumentation of target applications. Neither does it incur any additional burden on tutorial authors to add interactions to video tutorials. Given a video tutorial enriched with synchronously-logged workflow history, our tutorial watching system allows tutorial watchers to explore the captured workflows and interact with files and code in a way that is impossible for video data alone. We conduct a user study of 90 developers to evaluate the design and effectiveness of our system in helping developers learn programming knowledge in video tutorials.

Abstract:Nowadays, scripting programming languages like Python, Perl and Ruby are widely used in system programming, scientific computing, etc. Although solving a particular problem in these languages requires less time, less programming effort, and less concepts to be taught to achieve the desired goal, still they are not used as teaching tools. Therefore, the use of scripting languages as a teaching vehicle for programming course is very promising. On the other hand, GUI programming, when performed with such languages, is easy and rewarding, since one sees the result of her work immediately. Thus, we are sure that scripting languages combined with GUI toolkits will be the next big thing in computer education.

Abstract:Computer programming initially required humans to directly translate their goals into machine code. These goals could have easily been expressed as a written (or human) language directive. Computers, however, had no capacity to satisfactorily interpret written language. Large language model's provide exactly this capability; automatic generation of computer programs or even assembly code from written language directives. This research examines dynamic code execution of written language directives within the context of a running application. It implements a text editor whose business logic is purely backed by large language model prompts. That is, the program's execution uses prompts and written language directives to dynamically generate application logic at the point in time it is needed. The research clearly shows how written language directives, backed by a large language model, offer radically new programming and operating system paradigms. For example, empowerment of users to directly implement requirements via written language directives, thus supplanting the need for a team ofprogrammers, a release schedule and the like. Or, new security mechanisms where static executables, always a target for reverse engineering or fuzzing, no longer exist. They are replaced by ephemeral executables that may continually change, be completely removed, and are easily updated.

Abstract:Since the automation objects can not be used directly in DotNet environment,a way to bridge ACM simulation engine and DotNet application and handle ACM simulation-related events in DotNet code by encapsulating ACM Type Library using ActiveX and reflection techniques was developed.In order to pave the way for embedding solving,optimization and control strategies,C# was used as the development tool to establish a multi-path data pipeline between ACM and DataAPI,which is a uniform interface to manipulate database.

Abstract:ActiveX control is used widely in Internet and desktop fields nowadays, whereas it couldn’t run on Linux directly. To solve the problem, this paper presented a middle-ware mechanism consisting of two functional layers, which were operating system compatible layer and ActiveX control mechanism supporting layer. The difference between Windows and Linux was eliminated in operating system compatible layer. The supporting and improvement of COM mechanism as ActiveX control’s infrastructure was added, an implementation of registry using XML file was presented and the necessary supporting of "Control-Container" mechanism for Active control running was provided. A prototype of light weight ActiveX control mechanism running on Linux was implemented.

Abstract:It is very important for the improvement of web service to develop high performance ondemand service by script language easily. In this paper, by the analyzing of on-demand service requirement, the architecture of on-demand service framework by script language is purposed first. Than, the framework was filled by Groovy script language as a sample, and named Groovy service. Furthermore, it is designed and implemented based on Java language and Tomcat/Axis. At last, the test shows that the script language based on-demand service architecture is more flexible and powerful without heavy overhead.

Abstract:The applications of virtual assembly technology give rise to a far-reaching effect on machine enterprise. In order to optimize assembly sequence, assembly path and virtual environment expediently, and based on analyzing the process of simulation of machine assembly, a kind of virtual language and a set of functions for virtual assembly are put forward. The language which includes environment romance language, virtual environment setting language and virtual assembly language. The essential of virtual language realization process is to read language document, withdraw the information, and transfer their functions to realize establishment of the Virtual Machine, romance of virtual environment and assembly simulation of the Virtual Machine.

Abstract:Context: Software development tools should work and behave consistently across different programming languages, so that developers do not have to familiarize themselves with new tooling for new languages. Also, being able to combine multiple programming languages in a program increases reusability, as developers do not have to recreate software frameworks and libraries in the language they develop in and can reuse existing software instead. Inquiry: However, developers often have a broad choice of tools, some of which are designed for only one specific programming language. Various Integrated Development Environments have support for multiple languages, but are usually unable to provide a consistent programming experience due to different language-specific runtime features. With regard to language integrations, common mechanisms usually use abstraction layers, such as the operating system or a network connection, which are often boundaries for tools and hence negatively affect the programming experience. Approach: In this paper, we present a novel approach for tool reuse that aims to improve the experience with regard to working with multiple high-level dynamic, object-oriented programming languages. As part of this, we build a multi-language virtual execution environment and reuse Smalltalk's live programming tools for other languages. Knowledge: An important part of our approach is to retrofit and align runtime capabilities for different languages as it is a requirement for providing consistent tools. Furthermore, it provides convenient means to reuse and even mix software libraries and frameworks written in different languages without breaking tool support. Grounding: The prototype system Squimera is an implementation of our approach and demonstrates that it is possible to reuse both development tools from a live programming system to improve the development experience as well as software artifacts from different languages to increase productivity. Importance: In the domain of polyglot programming systems, most research has focused on the integration of different languages and corresponding performance optimizations. Our work, on the other hand, focuses on tooling and the overall programming experience.
