Abstract:Based on the analysis of the software architecture of existing GIS applications in industry,a compound architecture pattern which integrates Client/Server architecture and Browser/Server architecture is proposed so as to better meet the requirement for geospatial information sharing and make better use of geospatial resources.The compound architecture is then used to remake the system which has been used in the Land and Resources industry,called Urban Cadastral Information System,by dividing the original single-architected system into several subsystems with the GIS functionality provided by the same GIS Server.The prototype system runs well and the expected goals are achieved,which to some extent solves the problem that once the single-architected system ran into,meets the demands for sharing the geospatial information and provides new thoughts for the GIS-related applications in other industries.

Abstract:The state-of-art GIS platforms and application development is firstly analyzed in this paper and the necessity of developing independent copyright large-scale GIS platforms to support China's national spatial infrastructures is confirmed. Secondly the general aims and technological aims are put forward. Then the system structures and characteristics of large-scale distributed GIS are discussed in detail from the hierarchies of general framework, spatial database management system, spatial application service platforms and visual GIS tools and application interfaces.

Abstract:Current WebGIS platform developing techniques,such as CGI,Server API,Plug-ins,ActiveX, Java and so on,have their respective limitations. A new WebGIS system framework based on COM+ technology is presented. Technical foundation and system structure are discussed. Three key problems are put forward and resolved. Finally,an application example is given. It is proved that the solution can make full use of the resource of server, support operations by multiple users simultaneously have high system security and is independent of the platform of client.

Abstract:With the appearance of Internet promotes GIS on both technical aspect and applied aspect,traditional GIS encounters huge blocks on Internet platform. In the field of computer ,Distributed Computing technology has seen fast progress with three industrial standards. And on GIS field,openGIS Consortium has drawn a series of specifications,which,combining with the three standards,provides enterprise GIS application with foundamental facilities. The authors firstly illustrate the architectures with three models-thin clent,medium client and thick client,then present a mixed model which transfers both vector and raster data between client side and server side with the advantage of high interactivity in clinet and medium data transfer. Afterward,the authors give two enterprise schema based on two standards :COM+and EJB. Finally,the authors list some key technologies which will affect the future WebGIS-openGIS,XML, Windows. net, CORBA, EJB,etc.

Abstract:The ability with distributed computing is a main characteristic for new WebGIS platform. An organizing strategy of distributed WebGIS (DWebGIS) based on environment of server group and its implementation are presented. Then the distributed architecture of DWebGIS and engine of map services for COM+ were analyzed in detail. A distributed solution and process methods about DWebGIS are discussed, in which network load balancing (NLB) of server group, hidden marks of no-status objects, just-in-time (JIT) activation and object pooling are the key technique. Also, process of image based map-entities-objects in Client/Server, three factors (The alone filename are created by SessionID?server systematic time and random number), cycle of system request/response are expatiated on. Lastly, the correctness and feasibility for design of WebGIS system platform based on COM+ technique are proved by an example in Zhejiang Provincial Digital Drainage Area Planning System. Our further RD work is in progress.

And a frame of a GIS-base CSCW (Computer supported collaborated work) system for urban planning and management was proposed. The main procedure for system design and implementation was presented and some key technology was discussed. The conclusions and suggestion for further development were also given.

Abstract:Based on the characteristic of water-distribution network system and its management,the water-distribution network information system was designed following the COMGIS techniques.Using the ArcGIS Engine development kit and EPANET2.DLL in VB platform;the dynamical imitating and analyzing functions were realized.And Oracle Spatial was adopted to manage the databases and load the spatial and attribute data dynamically.Then the water-distribution network information system was developed based on C/S mode.,it has the functions to imitate the spatial situation of water-distribution network,which can be used as the visual tools for the decision-making.

Abstract:Analysis for the need that should be resolved in new geographic information system developing, deeply studying and analysis for cluster techniques were taken. To meet special request for present management of vast quantities of spatial data in net, an optimal multi-level PC servers architecture in GIS with clustering techniques was designed to take full advantages of high performance computing, high reliability and other cluster features. Integrated with general spatial database management strategies, a new type of distributed data management techniques such as high spatial locating, multi-caches strategies cluster based were developed. An application in Tongxiang tests the high performance of whole GIS platform.

Abstract:This paper discusses how to manage the distributed multi-source isomeric database and share the information of different sources, and solves the distributed storage and retrieve of spatial data which is internet-based. By network connecting, it is realized how to manage the independent spatial database in network-wide and convert conventional c/s computing model into distributed computing model, so the problems of geo-information sharing and interoperable geo-data are successfully solved. As put forward and designed in this paper, the J2EE-based Distributed Spatial Database Management System (JDSDMS) is data-centered, and builds on the newest technology such as distributed database, WWW network and Web GIS. It is absolutely transparent of the local distributed module management, and can update the databases between different platforms through the transaction manager and distinguish various data source. The requirement of manage the distributed, multiple and isomeric city data is completed met.

Abstract:In the paper, the system architecture of ArcIMS is introduced. Based on ArcIMS developing WebGIS, this paper emphasizes on system framework and key technology of application system in Internet/Intranet environment. Then the paper expatiate the design scheme of agricultural environmental information system based on ArcIMS and analyzes the main modules of the system using Tianjin agricultural environmental information system as a case. The key of the system development are establishing of spatial database by ArcSDE and issuing the agricultural environmental information by ArcIMS.

The system has three major functionalities: data query, data administration,theme map production and distribution. The system adopts three-tier architecture: data layer, which stores spatial data and attribute data; the middle layer, which provides web and GIS service; presentation layer, which includes software used to encapsulate Web and GIS clients. Abstract:Aimed at the background of development of digital urban planning, the paper analyzed the demand of sharing digital urban planning information. It was pointed out that sharing digital urban panning information is the necessity of information society development. The technical characteristics and application models of WebGIS were analyzed according to the trends of information technology development. The system structure and function components of the application system for sharing digital urban planning information were discussed and designed based on WebGIS environment. Taking information sharing for general urban planning of Beijing as an example, the WebGIS application system for sharing digital urban planning information was studied and developed.
