Abstract:International relations studies have undergone three stages. Interpersonal relationship and cultural relation have become the new focus in international relations studies. Today, different countries and national cultures are still highly valued, but are evolving into subcultures of modern civilization of mankind. We need multiple subcultures and should tolerate possible anti-culture, but not to accept any actions or behaviours of anti-civilization and anti-mankind.

Abstract:The development of curriculum studies make curriculum theory become an influential subject.When curriculum theory tries to contain teaching theory,it enters the area of Pedagogy theory and bring about the crisis of the latter.We should attach importance to the value of the relation of both sides.The present,the problem of curriculum theory in China is practice in the first place,after that is learning. Abstract:Culture plays an important role in the process of modernisation and internationalisation. All countries face with the task of cultural transformation in some extent during the process. Chinese culture has an urgent need for a new supply for more respect for individuality, truth-seeking and innovation. Curriculum internationalisation in higher education embodies such culture transformation. Critical thinking is considered as a hidden core curriculum in developed countries and an important means to promote curriculum internationalisation. For Chinese universities and colleges, curriculum internationalisation involves not only science and technology education but also general education, with a special reference to cultural innovation. The article argues that curricular and pedagogical development for critical thinking is an effective means to inherit traditional culture, absorb advanced foreign culture, and manage cultural conflict.

Abstract:During the process of globalization, harmony, civilization and co-prosperity is the topic of culture communication and cooperation.According to this question, Dependency Theory gives us an opportunity to reflect on our way of development. In this paper, the author analysis the cause why the Dependency theory spred in the area of Chinese educational research.Whereas, the author points out that the basic concept, standpoint and research method of Dependency Theory need to be discussed;the rationality of mechanically applying Dependency Theory to higher education research should be questioned. We cannot generalize Chinas educational modernization as “dependent development”, or ignore the independent innovation of Chinas education when introducing western educational model in the past hundred years.However, in general, the course of Chinas educational modernization was one of continual learning and innovating, with strong national and indigenous characteristics. As to Chinas higher education discipline, it was born and grew up in China and has always been characterized by a strong native flavor.The authors emphasize that we should further develop cooperation and communication with foreign countries, and absorb advanced civilization accomplishments of human society. In the new century, the two tendencies to “nihilism of nationality” and “selfish departmentalism of nationality” should be avoided in the building of Chinas higher education discipline. The innovation of Chinas higher education discipline will be achieved through inheriting, referencing and exceeding.

Abstract:This book is divided into three main parts: an introduction to theories of culture, a section on Chinese culture, and one on cultural construction. The first part can be interpreted as an attempt to explore the meta-theoretical system of culture at the philosophical level. Based on the concept of “culture as ways of living,” the book further defines “culture” as “the preparation of people,” including the processes by which people adapt to local cultural and social customs. It stresses the subjectivity of culture, and the cultural rights and responsibilities of humankind. The second part takes on the subjective perspective of contemporary Chinese culture, interpreting it within the context of the historical situation of the Chinese people and nation, before engaging in a systematic reflection on several fundamental issues of Chinese culture. It closes by evaluating Chinese cultural practices and formulating a type of contemporary cultural self-identity. The book’s third part focuses on the interconnection between the revival of the Chinese nation and the modernization of Chinese society, analyzing the conditions and challenges for the three primary types of contemporary Chinese culture: material culture, political culture and spiritual culture. Lastly, the book puts forward suggestions concerning several of the critical problems facing a society in transition.

Abstract:Social innovation is the leading force for social transformation and development under the context of globalization. Social innovations happen through two kinds of mode, top-down mode and down-to-top mode. Enough generalized trust and social capital are indispensable for the function of both modes. The enlargement of generalized trust and social capital needs a culture of self-responsibility of each member in a society. By pointing out the weakness of Chinese traditional curriculum culture and the main difficulty for curriculum reform, this paper argued the necessity of establishing a curriculum culture of self-responsibility for enhancing the generalized trust and social capital, so as to stimulate social innovation.
