Abstract:A fundamental prerequisite for the survival and development of an organization in a changing environment is the ability to adapt to change. This is the essence of learning. The organization requires organizational learning(OL). OL has already become one of the central management tasks of the present day. It will continue in the future. This paper reviews the definition of OL, how to analogize OL, OL research methods, OL model, learning tools, and research trend, which are important to research about OL.

Abstract:The research on organizational learning is very important for the continuous development of enterprises and the whole society.Six domains of literatures on organizational learning were reviewed,which are the concept,investigation,actualizing and new developments of learning.The review showed that(1)concept of organizational learning is very different from the learning organization and can not confound each other absolutely;(2)the organizational learning may were studied and understanded with different methods and from different point of view by researchers and managers;(3)organizational learning which is organizational change form has close relationship with the realistic political power;and(4)it is necessary to establish the integrative model of organizational learning both in theory and in practice.

Abstract:Purpose Based on a review of previous research of organizational learning from experience, this paper aims to point out the notable gaps and unresolved issues in the research area and proposes a “multilevel integrated model of learning from experience”, which could integrate current research findings and serve as the theoretical framework for further investigation. Design/methodology/approach This paper is a theoretical review. Findings From the individual, team, organizational and multiple levels, in an order of the outcome of success and failure, this study reviews previous research about organizational learning from experience down to the last detail and points out some of their limitations, including relative fragmented-wise, lack of grope about the underlying motivations, lack of overall framework, etc. Then, this study proposes the “multilevel integrated model of learning from experience”, which provides a systematic and fine-grained framework for studies in this field. Research limitations/implications This paper emphasizes that true underlying motivations impelling learning from experience shall be identified and exploration for the antecedents shall be further deepened. Besides, this study figures out that various factors played their parts in the process and outcome of learning from experience through both subjective perception and objective experience. Thus, future research shall distinguish the influence of learning from experience, respectively, into “knowing” and “doing”. Originality/value This study is an attempt to review and integrate current research of learning from experience in multiple levels and further differentiates the influences of different experience outcomes (success vs failure). The proposed theoretical model provides clear suggestions of where future research should be directed.

Abstract:A new organizational learning (OL) process medel has been put forward in this paper,based on which the assessment system of OL has been established. The system has been tested in 3 enterprises firstly and then applied in 30 private enterprises,all the results have been analyzed and reviewed. A new OL tool,namely “The Organizational Learning Self-Assessment System”(OLSA) has been also developed aiming to practical application in the enterprise.

Abstract:This paper first describes the characteristics of organizational behavior and leadership research, and delineates the status quo of Chinese and international research. We can see that Chinese scholars have made fast progress in this field in the past decade and have tremendous potentials. Second, after comparing Chinese and oversea researchers in studied topics and methods, we point out the shortcomings of the current Chinese research. The third section of the paper presents the innovations of the organizational behavior and leadership research in theory, method and paradigm. Scholars are encouraged to focus on the phenomena relevant to Chinese economic and social development, to identify the research questions that are relevant to this field, and to conduct research in rigorous and creative ways. To achieve this goal, Chinese scholars need to learn from the existing theories and methods, and choose appropriate perspectives to examine the identified questions. In order to inspire Chinese scholars to investigate the important phenomena in the Chinese context, and therefore to contribute to the international academy, the third section also introduces several recent studies with high impacts. The paper concludes with the future research directions in the field of organizational behavior and leadership.

Abstract:Based on knowledge fermenting theory, this paper analyzed the current situation and obstacles of organizational learning (OL) in its implementation process. Firstly, it analyzed the external driving force and the internal driving force of OL from the angle of knowledge enzyme. Secondly, it analyzed the knowledge source of OL from the concept of knowledge sourdough and knowledge matrix. Thirdly, the impact of various elements in the fermentation bar on OL is analyzed. Finally, it explored the contents and the technologies of OL. The correct assessment of the actuality make for bringing forward correct strategy for OL, therefore this paper would provide the useful reference for the smooth implementation of OL.

Abstract:This paper does the relative systematic research on the organizational learning theory in management science. On the classification basis of five kinds of organizational learning theory put forward by Peter Pawlowsky, our paper does further systematic prescriptive analysis to the research perspectives and research patterns of numerous academic research guided by each theory. It also does the systematic analysis and evaluation on the source,polarization processing and actuality of every theory about organizational learning problems in management science. It had been found that a multiplex trend of organizational learning theory is coming into being because of the differences in essential attitude, research angle and research pattern by different researchers. But in recent years, such distinct theories approaching organizational learning from different perspectives develop to toward integrity. The further systematic view about organizational learning issues will be based upon integrative view about the multiplex angle of organizational learning essence.

Abstract:This article aims to analyze systematically academic papers concerning organizational learning and learning organizations in the China Academic Journals Full-text Database (CAJ) published after 2000. A detailed review was conducted of their main findings, publication time, research methods, subjects (themes), and source of funding to depict the current state of research on organizational learning and learning organizations in China on three different levels, namely organizational, team and individual levels of learning. Based on the comprehensive review of literature, this article proposes future directions for organizational learning research and practice in China. Suggestions are offered to advance further research and practice in China.

Abstract:Organization theories (OTs) are loosely connected around organizational phenomena. Due to lack of well-defined research objects, mainstream research methods, and powerful but parsimonious assumptions, OTs frequently experience internal tension and even disintegration. Consequently, a historical review of the development of OTs functions as a pragmatic substitute of normative theorization in defining the boundary and contents of this field. In this paper I review the literature of OTs by focusing on the interactive relationships between three branches in the development of OTs: organizational practice, entry of multiple disciplines, and the evolution of paradigms. My research demonstrates that the richness of organizational practice, the easiness of the penetration of multiple disciplines, and the lack of paradigm consensus characterize the research field of OTs.
