Abstract:The pressurized headbox is one of the most important pieces of equipment on a modern paper machine. It is a special two-inputs-twooutputs process, and proper matching of input and output of control loops is very important. Relative gain analysis and computer simulation based on a mathematics model of the pressurized headbox shows that the common used configuration in paper industry is not the best. For this kind of configuration, a multi variable predictive control algorithm is designed. Computer simulation shows that this kind of control algorithm can deal with the headbox control very well. A control system with this kind of controller for full scale pressurized headbox has a good performance with excellent control precision, very short response time and very small offsets.

Abstract:A fuzzy controller of the winding/unwinding control system used in jig-dyeing machine is introduced, which is superior to the one with conventional optimal PID controller in convergence speed and stability. Its mathematical model and transfer function are presented based on mechanism of the winding/unwinding control system. Simulation of the fuzzy controller carried out in the MATLAB (Simulink) environment proves that the control system based on fuzzy controller is superior in quality, precision and operation to a conventional optimal PID controller. The outlined experimental results also show the effectiveness and the robustness of the fuzzy PID controller in good dynamic performance, high robustness to parameter variation and disturbance.

Abstract:The important part of paper machine——pressure and liquid-level of headbox control system,exists serious multivariate close coupling and nonlinear problems.Thus set up a membership function,chose a good fuzzy control rule and designed a fuzzy controller with a real time-decouple compensation,in order to increase self-adaption capacity and intelligency.The practical application shows that its control is steady and realiable.

Abstract:The existing control theory is divided into two parts in this paper, i.e. precise control theory and fuzzy control theory. After investigating the advantages and disadvantages of the precise control and fuzzy control respectively, the so-called fuzzy-precise combined control strategy is proposed from the view of practical application in the paper. This new strategy will bring maximum control benefits with minimum design efforts. As the application background, the fuzzy-precise combined control strategy has applied into four full scale paper machine control systems, and all of them got good control results.

Abstract:In the pressurized head box control system of paper machine, the characteristic of nonlinear and strong coupling always appears, and makes the system control difficult. Aiming at this problem, the input-output feedback method is used in the paper. The method can achieve precise linearization and decoupling. Then, the optimal control law is obtained via linear quadratic optimization method. This makes the state, input and output of pressurized head box stabilize at set points. The simulation result shows that the method satisfies the control demand very well.

Abstract:A soft relief controller is proposed to solve the pressure overshoot problem of the hydraulic press. Whose basic idea is to make the proportional relief valve open in advance to limit the pressure rise rate to reduce the pressure overshoot. What's more, the fuzzy PID controller is introduced to improve the control performance. Based on the mechanism modeling method, the complete mathematical model of the hydraulic press is established to conduct the simulation research. The correctness of the mathematical model is proved through experiments. Simulation and experiment results demonstrate that the soft relief fuzzy PID controller which combines the soft relief controller and the fuzzy PID controller can guarantee the hydraulic press has no overshoot during the pressure building up process. Furthermore, a high steady precision is achieved and the adjust time can meet the demands of most hydraulic presses.

Abstract:The mathematic model of the pressure reduction by expander in high pressure pneumatic system was created.The digital simulation model of the PID-PWM control system was obtained by Simulink in MATLAB,the experiment and simulation of the PID-PWM control system was performed.The results show that the mathematic model and simulation model are correct,and the PID control can be used in pneumatic pressure control system to some extent.

Abstract:Aiming at serious problems of controlling packing pressure in injection molding processes with traditional PID algorithm, such as pressure overshoot,static error,time delay etc.,a mathematical model of the packing pressure system in injection process was established.Considering the behaviors of system,a new control device with CMAC and PID compound controller was designed. The experimental results show that,compared to traditional PID control, CMAC and PID compound control improves the pressure overshoot,static error and time delay of the packing pressure significantly,and makes notable progresses on quality and repeatability of products.

Abstract:Aiming at the color yellow, darker or burnt problems generated in tea carding, by the analysis of tea carding technology, tempera-ture control, fuzzy algorithm and fuzzy-PID control technology, fuzzy algorithm and fuzzy-PID control technology was applied in tea carding machine control system. A design of tea carding machine double fuzzy control system based on fuzzy algorithm, fuzzy-PID control technology, and STM32 ARM Cortex-M3 microcontroller was presented. Simulations about traditional PID control system and double fuzzy control system were made in Matlab, and also the experiments about the both systems on 6CLZ-60 tea carding machine were done. The results indicate that the parameters which output by this control system are ideal of tea carding, the temperature departure is less then 1 ℃. The double fuzzy control system for tea carding machine can reduce the human factors in the process of tea-making, improve the quality or tea carding and the intelligent level of the machine for tea-making.

Abstract:This paper investigates application of a multivariable control technique to the multi-input multi-output (MIMO) nonlinear model of the paper machine pressurized head box. The proposed controller design is based on a feedback linearization and LQ optimization method. The method can stabilize the system at operating point. Abstract:Headbox is the key component in a paper machine which has a significant effect on product quality. In this paper, a hybrid model which combines mixing tank and air-cushioned headbox is proposed. In the hybrid model, the mixing tank is taken into consideration, which makes the consistency of pulp controllable. An internal model controller with both good control effect and strong robustness is designed to control the proposed model. With the generalized decoupled object, computational work is avoided, and the designed controller has low order. Numerical simulations are performed to illustrate the effectiveness of this methodology.

Abstract:This paper presents a model-based fault detection and fault-tolerant control technique for the pressurized headbox of a paper machine. A bank of Kalman filters is constructed corresponding to all the possible sensor failure modes. The possibility that each failure mode hypothesis is true is calculated using measurement innovations processes. The sensor failures are detected and located based on the calculated possibilities of the hypotheses. The controller and state estimator are automatically reorganized subsequent to the occurrence of failures to ensure the stability and good performance of the closed-loop system. The issues of system hardware redundancy and computational burden as well as implementai complexity are taken into account in the system design. Simulation results have shown satisfactory performance of the headbox control system after applying the presented technique.

Abstract:On the basis of analyzing of the coupling relationship among variations in the heating system,and in accordance with the control requirements,the paper presents a basic control strategy in which the heating system is divided into several subsystems to be controlled respectively under the premise of effective decoupling.The control program of the variable flow heating system has been designed.Hardware configuration with IPC as the superordinate computer and PLC as the subordinate system,as well as the software design method are introduced.The design of PID control procedures,and the interrupted procedures are described in detail.

Abstract:To satisfy the requirement of steel pipe bundle shaping and packing in steel pipe manufacturing,fuzzy proportional-integral-differential(PID) control of steel pipe bundle auto-shaping electro-hydraulic proportional system was studied.Based on the composition and working principle of the proposed system,horizontal position and vertical position-stacking control of pipe layer with dual cylinders were analyzed,and then a position error compensation algorithm was provided for pipe layer vertical position-stacking procedure.A two-step fuzzy PID control strategy was obtained with combination of expert-intelligent control and fuzzy PID control technology.A corresponding fuzzy PID controller was designed for actual system.System control results show that the fuzzy PID controller can modify control parameters,and improve the system self-adaptability and robustness.Compared with conventional PID controller,fuzzy PID controller has better running performance.

Abstract:A multivariable fuzzy control strategy was proposed for the heat setting machine in post-procedure of printing and dyeing industry.In this strategy,the temperature field was controlled by means of three hierarchical subsections; each subsection was regulated with single fuzzy control loop so that the single loop temperature can be kept more precise.Based on this, a forward multivariable fuzzy controller was introduced for resolving the problems of subsections interference and temperature distributing uneven.Finally, the control strategy was completed in a real printing and dyeing process using SIEMENS PLC,the practical results show that the proposed approach is better than conventional PID approach.
