Abstract:The dynamic morphological operations based on basic morphological operations is defined.The dynamic dilation operation is applied in edge detection.This method just operates on objects in the image.In each step,next original place is selected dynamically.The method reduces operation quantities.The computation is fast and the efficiency is power.The simulation result in MATLAB6.5 is satisfying.

Abstract:In order to solve the traditional edge detection algorithms with poor noise immunity characteristics and inaccurate edge location ,a new edge detection method based on mathematical morphology was put forward .Firstly ,the mathematical morphology with double scale double kernel element was applied to image noise reduction to improve the signal to noise ratio of the image ,then the mathematical morphology of multi-scale multi-structural elements was used for the image edge extraction .The algorithm was used in Visual Studio with Open CV for Lena image processing simulation .Experimental results show that the new algorithm has good anti-noise performance compared with the results by Canny algorithm .

Abstract:An aim to solve the problem of missing details of image and discontinuous edge. A new method of image edge detection based on the least mean square filter and mathematical morphology is presented. Experiment results show that using this method to detect edge we can effectively get rid of noise and correctly detect the continuous edge of image.

Abstract:Edge detection is a crucial and basic tool in image segmentation. The key of edge detection in gray image is to detect more edge details, reduce the noise impact to the largest degree, and threshold the edge image automatically. According to this, a novel edge detection method based on mathematic morphology and iterative thresholding is proposed in this paper. A modified morphological transform through regrouping the priorities of several morphological transforms based on contour structuring elements is realized first, and then an edge detector is defined by using the multi-scale operation of the modified morphological transform to detect the gray-scale edge map. Finally, a new iterative thresholding algorithm is applied to obtain the binary edge image. Comparative study with other morphological methods reveals its superiority over de-noising capacity, edge details protection and un-sensitivity to the shape of the structuring elements

Abstract:During the image edge detection with mathematical morphology, using single form and single scale of structural element will lose the information of other forms of elements. And the ability of anti-noise is weak. An adaptive algorithm for image edge detection based on multistructural and multi-scale is proposed in this paper. For single form of structural element, we add weight coefficients on each result of different scale elements according to the inverse ratio of information entropy. For single scale of structural element, we add weight coefficients on each result of different form elements according to the direct ratio of information entropy. At last, we construct a series-parallel form of edge detector according to the algorithm process and get the final edge image after the fusion of edge images. The experiment shows that the improved algorithm not only can retain rich edge information but also has good performance to remove the noise.

Abstract:A novel mathematical morphology algorithm based on rough sets is given for edge detection of gray-scale image. According to geometrical feature of image, the structure element is selected automatically to image details matching. The experimental results show that the method is better than the classical edge detection. It is also better than traditional mathematical morphological used single structure element.

Abstract:The most important thing in multiscale edge detection is the filter scale. By applying the Student t-test to compare the distribution of the intensities in the neighborhood of a given pixel, the pixel is classified to be either in an edge region or in a homogenous region. Accordingly, a five-dimensional vector diagram (t-diagram) is obtained. The Harr wavelet whose scale is adjusted by t-diagram is used to detect the edge. Experimental results show that using the proposed method, edges of natural images can be robustly detected despite of presence of additive noise.

Abstract:In this paper applications of mathematical morphology in edge detection are thoroughly discussed,and a new morphological edge detection operator based on them is presented and used to detect image edge.Then the scale adjustment of the morphological structural elements is performed.The more ideal image edges under the environment of existing noise are obtained by integrating the edge characteristics of various scales.The experiments confirm the feasibility and effectiveness of the algorithm.

Abstract:In this paper,a better effective edge detection algorithm is presented based on the good boundary performance of gray-scale mathematical morphology,as well as the multi-resolution of wavelet decomposition.Firstly,the image which will be detected is done with multi-scale wavelet decomposition,and then, the low-frequency part and details are obtained.Secondly,the low-frequency part and details are edge-detected using dilation and erosion at the same time,further,the results are averaged.Lastly,the final result which is representative of the low-frequency is done with inverse wavelet transform joined with other details including middle-frequency and diagonal information,strong edge information of image is received,what is more,much clearer edge contour is obtained through binary operation.If the result has some noise,opening and closing operation will be used.The experimental results proved that this method is more effective than other ones,and simple to use.

Abstract:This paper sets forth adaptive mathematical morphology methods after introducing basic theories of mathematical morphology.The method is used to link medical image edge which is discontinuous with some gaps.Broken edges are extended and linked along their slope directions by using the adaptive dilation operation.The size and orientation of elliptical structuring elements are adjusted according to the slope,curvature and other correlative characteristics of edges.The experimental results show that the method is effective.

A Method of Multi-pixels Edge Detecting of Image

Abstract:A method which can detect multi-pixels edge of image is put forward. The method is based on difference of gray-level between the border upon pixels. To a 256 by 256 image, it needs 0.22 second to detect edge which is 26% and 34% faster respectively than that of Prewitt and Robert arithmetic. After ameliorating arithmetic, horizontal and vertical edge of image is detected integrality. The image edge doesn't exit in the edge detecting result of Prewitt and Robert arithmetic. Through thinning arithmetic, clear and precision location single pixel edge is achieved. The result show that, the multi-pixels edge detecting, improved and thinning method is of simple model and perfect real-time quality. The whole system can be realized easily.

Abstract:Aimed at the characteristic of metallographical image, a specific image, and based on the multi-structural element in the mathematical morphology, a new method of edge detection is proposed in this paper to deal properly with the double- boundary and the inaccuracy of the boundary localization in the image in the edge detection carried by the traditional edge detection method, such as Roberts, Sobel, Prewitt, Log, Canny and so on. The design of the multi-structural element and the construction of the suitable morphology operator are emphasized in this paper. The experimental results indicated that this method is very effective, and is better than the traditional edge detection method.

Abstract:In-depth study of the edge detection algorithm based on soft mathematical morphology,the article proposes novel soft morphology dilation and erosion operators,which achieves more robust than traditional soft morphology dilation and erosion operators.Based on the novel soft morphological operators,the gradient edge detection algorithm is presented.The experiment proves that the method have very strong robustness,especially to the impulse noise and can detect very good image edge information.

Abstract:Medical images edge detection is an important work for object recognition of the human organs and it is an important pre-processing step in medical image segmentation and 3D reconstruction. Conventionally, edge is detected according to some early brought forward algorithms such as gradient-based algorithm and template-based algorithm, but they are not so good for noise medical image edge detection. In this paper, basic mathematical morphological theory and operations are introduced at first, and then a novel mathematical morphological edge detection algorithm is proposed to detect the edge of lungs CT image with salt-and-pepper noise. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm is more efficient for medical image denoising and edge detection than the usually used template-based edge detection algorithms and general morphological edge detection algorithms

Abstract:Mathematical morphology in its original form is a set-theoretical approach to image analysis. It studies image transformations with a simple geometrical interpretation and their algebraic decomposition and synthesis in terms of elementary set operations. Mathematical Morphology has been applied in many fields, at the beginning, it is only applied in binary images called binary-scale morphology, and then it has been developed to gray-level images called gray-scalemorphology, but there are few researches in color image. In this paper we present a new color vector morphological edge detection methods using a multi-scale approach for detection edge under noisy condition. The goal of edge detection is to detect and localize edge points even under noise condition. Not all edges with various fineness regarding spectral contrast and spatial geometry can be detected by a single operator. In fact, some details that seem to be freak and noisy in one scale may become relevant in other scale. Hence, edges of different fineness are detected using operator at different scale, and then they are judiciously combined to produce all the edges of interest in an image. The experiment has proved this proposed method can detect detail edges in color image. Its superiority has been revealed by comparing with the traditional edge detection methods such as LOG. The experimental results have shown this method is robust to noise.

Abstract:This paper puts forward an effective, specific algorithm for edge detection. Based on multi-structure elements of gray mathematics morphology, in the light of difference between noise and edge shape of RS images, the paper establishes multi-structure elements to detect edge by utilizing the grey form transformation principle. Compared with some classical edge detection operators, such as Sobel Edge Detection Operator, LOG Edge Detection Operator, and Canny Edge Detection Operator, the experiment indicates that this new algorithm possesses very good edge detection ability, which can detect edges more effectively, but its noise-resisting ability is relatively low. Because of the bigger noise of remote sensing image, the authors probe into putting forward other edge detection method based on combination of wavelet directivity checkout technology and small-scale Mathematical Morphology finally. So, position at the edge can be accurately located, the noise can be inhibited to a certain extent and the effect of edge detection is obvious.

Abstract:Using the approach of changing vector data to grid data,the data from LIDAR can be converted to raster image.Then sequential operation of dilation and erosion of mathematic morphology are conducted on the raw image.Then the edge can be detected and vectorized with the result image.By using the edge of image,the edge of object and its corresponding data points can be identified.At the end,two experiments are carried out to show the feasibility of this approach.

Abstract:A new edge detection algorithm based on improved mathematics morphologic method is proposed.By using erosion and dilation basic operators,the structure elements suitable for the image edge detection are chosen,then use Canny edge detector to extraction edge.The improved mathematics morphologic method is helpful to reveal distinct characteristics for some edge features,efficiently with high speed processing.Compared with the classical edge detection operators and traditional mathematics morphology edge detection algorithm,the improved algorithm is more advantage,the quality and speed of the picture edge extraction significantly improved.
