Abstract:We consider cosmological models with an arbitrary number of scalar fields nonminimally coupled to gravity and construct new integrable cosmological models. In the constructed models, the Ricci scalar is an integral of motion irrespectively of the type of metric. The general solutions of evolution equations in the spatially flat FLRW metric have been found for models with the quartic potentials.

Abstract:This paper presents a new perspective on integrability in theories of gravity. We show how the stationary, axisymmetric sector of General Relativity can be described by the boundary dynamics of a four-dimensional Chern-Simons theory. This approach shows promise for simplifying solution generating methods in both General Relativity and higher-dimensional supergravity theories. The four-dimensional Chern-Simons theory presented generalises those for flat space integrable models by introducing a space-time dependent branch cut in the spectral plane. We also make contact with twistor space approaches to integrability, showing how the branch cut defects of four-dimensional Chern-Simons theory arise from a discrete reduction of six-dimensional Chern-Simons theory.

New Integrable Chiral Cosmological Models with Two Scalar Fields

Abstract:We construct integrable chiral cosmological models with two scalar fields and potentials represented in terms of hyperbolic functions. Using the conformal transformation of the metric and the corresponding models with induced gravity terms, we obtain the general solutions in the spatially flat, open and closed Friedmann universes and the corresponding integrals of motion. The obtained general solutions can be written in terms of the Jacobi elliptic functions of the conformal time.

Abstract:We define higher genus Gromov-Witten invariants and establish a mathematical theory of sigma model coupled with gravity over any semi-positive symplectic manifolds. As applications, we verify the stablizing conjecture of symplectic 4-manifolds for simply connected elliptic surfaces and construct smooth 6-manifolds admitting infinitely many deformation classes of symplectic structures.

Abstract:A coupled massive Thirring model of two interacting Dirac spinors in $1+1$ dimensions with fields taking values in a Grassmann algebra is introduced, which is closely related to a SU(1,1) version of the Grassmannian Thirring model also introduced in this work. The Lax pair for the system is constructed, and its equations of motion are obtained from a zero curvature condition. It is shown that the system possesses several infinite hierarchies of conserved quantities, which strongly confirms its integrability. The model admits a canonical formulation and is invariant under space-time translations, Lorentz boosts and global U(1) gauge transformations, as well as discrete symmetries like parity and time reversal. The conserved quantities associated to the continuous symmetries are derived using Noether's theorem, and their relation to the lower-order integrals of motion is spelled out. New nonlocal integrable models are constructed through consistent nonlocal reductions between the field components of the general model. The Lagrangian, the Hamiltonian, the Lax pair and several infinite hierarchies of conserved quantities for each of these nonlocal models are obtained substituting its reduction in the expressions of the analogous quantities for the general model. It is shown that, although the Lorentz symmetry of the general model breaks down for its nonlocal reductions, these reductions remain invariant under parity, time reversal, global U(1) gauge transformations and space-time translations.

Abstract:Integrability of N=1 supersymmetric Ruijsenaars-Schneider three-body models based upon the potentials W(x)=2/x, W(x)=2/sin(x), and W(x)=2/sinh(x) is proven. The problem of constructing an algebraically resolvable set of Grassmann-odd constants of motion is reduced to finding a triplet of vectors such that all their scalar products can be expressed in terms of the original bosonic first integrals. The supersymmetric generalizations are used to build novel integrable (iso)spin extensions of the respective Ruijsenaars-Schneider three-body systems.

Abstract:Following the construction of a model for the planar supersymmetric Chaplygin gas, supersymmetric fluid mechanics in (1+1)-dimensions is obtained from the light-cone parametrized Nambu-Goto superstring in (2+1)-dimensions. The lineal model is completely integrable and can be formulated neatly using Riemann coordinates. Infinite towers of conserved charges and supercharges are exhibited. They form irreducible representations of a dynamical (hidden) SO(2,1) symmetry group.

Abstract:In this paper we study integrability and non-integrability for type-IIA supergravity background dual to deformed plane wave matrix model. From the bulk perspective, we estimate various chaos indicators that clearly shows chaotic string dynamics in the limit of small value of the parameter L present in the theory. On the other hand, the string dynamics exhibits a non-chaotic motion for the large value of the parameter L and therefore presumably an underlying integrable structure. Our findings reveal that the parameter L in the type-IIA background acts as an interpolation between a non-integrable theory to an integrable theory in dual SCFTs.

General Solutions of Einstein Gravity at D→ 2

Abstract:Einstein gravity at D→ 2 limit can be obtained from the Kaluza–Klein procedure by taking the dimensions of the internal space to zero while keeping only the breathing mode. The resulting scalar–tensor theory can be further reduced to JT gravity or the Liouville CFT at the large central charge limit, bridging the two important 2d models. We construct the general solutions of the theory, including black holes and wormholes for both positive and negative cosmological constants. We obtain the on-shell action of the nearly AdS _2 and show that for suitable boundary slices, the Schwarzian action governs the leading-order dynamics at the finite boundary cutoff in later time. For positive cosmological constant, we find that the scalar is well defined on the 2-sphere.
Anisotropic solutions for $R^2$ gravity model with a scalar field

Abstract:We study anisotropic solutions for the pure $R^2$ gravity model with a scalar field in the Bianchi I metric. The evolution equations have a singularity at zero value of the Ricci scalar $R$ for anisotropic solutions, whereas these equations are smooth for isotropic solutions. So, there is no anisotropic solution with the Ricci scalar smoothly changing its sign during evolution. We have found anisotropic solutions using the conformal transformation of the metric and the Einstein frame. The general solution in the Einstein frame has been found explicitly. The corresponding solution in the Jordan frame has been constructed in quadratures.

De Sitter Thick Brane Solution in Weyl Geometry

Abstract:In this paper, we consider a de Sitter thick brane model in a pure geometric Weyl integrable five-dimensional space-time, which is a generalization of Riemann geometry and is invariant under a so-called Weyl rescaling. We find a solution of this model via performing a conformal transformation to map the Weylian structure into a familiar Riemannian one with a conformal metric. The metric perturbations of the model are discussed. For gravitational perturbation, we get the effective modified Pöschl-Teller potential in corresponding Schrödinger equation for Kaluza-Klein (KK) modes of the graviton. There is only one bound state, which is a normalizable massless zero mode and represents a stable 4-dimensional graviton. Furthermore, there exists a mass gap between the massless mode and continuous KK modes. We also find that the model is stable under the scalar perturbation in the metric. The correction to the Newtonian potential on the brane is proportional to e −3 rβ /2 / r 2 , where β is the de Sitter parameter of the brane. This is very different from the correction caused by a volcano-like effective potential.

Abstract:Stationary black holes of massless supergravity theories are described by certain geodesic curves on the target space that is obtained after dimensional reduction over time. When the target space is a symmetric coset space we make use of the group-theoretical structure to prove that the second order geodesic equations are integrable in the sense of Liouville, by explicitly constructing the correct amount of Hamiltonians in involution. This implies that the Hamilton-Jacobi formalism can be applied, which proves that all such black hole solutions, including non-extremal solutions, possess a description in terms of a (fake) superpotential. Furthermore, we improve the existing integration method by the construction of a Lax integration algorithm that integrates the second order equations in one step instead of the usual two step procedure. We illustrate this technology with a specific example.

Abstract:The Heisenberg supermagnet models which can be regarded as the superextensions of the Heisenberg ferromagnet model are the important supersymmetric (1 + 1)-dimensional integrable systems. We investigate their integrability in higher dimensions and construct the (2 + 1)dimensional integrable Heisenberg supermagnet models with respect to two different quadratic constraints of the the superspin variable. By means of the gauge transformation, we derive their gauge equivalent counterparts, i.e., the (2 + 1)dimensional Grassman odd and super nonlinear Schrodinger equation, respectively.

Abstract:We study integrable models in the context of the recently discovered Gauge/ YBE correspondence, where the Yang–Baxter equation (YBE) is promoted to a duality between two supersymmetric gauge theories. We study flavored elliptic genus of 2d  = 2, 2 ( ) quiver gauge theories, which are defined from statistical lattices regarded as quiver diagrams. Our R-matrices are written in terms of theta functions and simplify considerably when the gauge groups at the quiver nodes are Abelian. We also discuss the modularity properties of the R-matrix, reduction of 2d index to 1d Witten index, and string theory realizations of our theories.

Abstract:The finite-volume thermodynamics of a massive integrable QFT is described in terms of a grand canonical ensemble of loops immersed in a torus and interacting through scattering factors associated with their intersections. The path integral of the loops is evaluated explicitly after decoupling the pairwise interactions by a Hubbard-Stratonovich transformation. The HS fields are holomorphic fields depending on the rapidity and can be expanded in elementary oscillators. The torus partition function is expressed as certain expectation value in the Fock space of these oscillators. In the limit where one of the periods of the torus becomes asymptotically large, the effective field theory becomes mean field type. The mean field describes the infinite-volume thermodynamics which is solved by the Thermodynamical Bethe Ansatz.

New Spherically Symmetric Solutions in Einstein-Yang-Mills-Higgs Model

Abstract:We study classical solutions in the SU(2) Einstein-Yang-Mills-Higgs theory. The spherically symmetric ans\atze for all fields are given and the equations of motion are derived as a system of ordinary differential equations. The asymptotics and the boundary conditions at space origin for regular solutions and at event horizon for black hole solutions are studied. Using the shooting method, we found numerical solutions to the theory. For regular solutions, we find two new sets of asymptotically flat solutions. Each of these sets contains continua of solutions in the parameter space spanned by the shooting parameters. The solutions bifurcate along these parameter curves and the bifurcation are argued to be due to the internal structure of the model. Both sets of the solutions are asymptotically flat but one is exponentially so and the other is so with oscillations. For black holes, a new set of boundary conditions is studied and it is found that there also exists a continuum of black hole solutions in parameter space and similar bifurcation behavior is also present to these solutions. The SU(2) charges of these solutions are found zero and these solutions are proven to be unstable.

Abstract:We establish a double noncommutative Jackiw-Teitelboim (JT) gravity model in 1+1 dimensions, which extends the results of Cacciatori et al. (Class. Quant. Grav. 19 (2002) 4029) by means of the double complex function theory. Not only can the two cases of the cosmological constant lambda > 0 and lambda < 0 be discussed in a unified way, but also the double solutions of this model, i.e. the de Sitter (dS(2)) and anti-de Sitter (AdS(2)) fuzzy spheres, can be derived simultaneously. Hence the results of Cacciatori et al. are included as a special case.

Abstract:In this letter, a two-dimensional (2D) gravity-scalar model is studied. This model supports interesting double-kink solutions, and the corresponding metric solutions can be derived analytically. Depending on a tunable parameter $c$, the metric can be symmetric or asymmetric. The Schrödinger-like equation for normal modes of the physical linear perturbation is derived. As $c$ varies, the effective potential can have one or two singular barriers. If $c$ is larger than a critical value, the zero mode will be normalizable, despite of the appearance of a strong repulsive singularity. The double-kink solution is always stable against linear perturbations.
