The pharmacogenomics of platinum chemotherapy in non-small cell lung cancer

Abstract:Platinum-based chemotherapy is one of the major treatment methods for non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC), however, the therapeutic efficiency varies largely among different pa-tients.Genetic variation is one of the most important factors influencing NSCLC patients platinum-based chemotherapy, lots of gene mutations related to DNA damage and repair, drug metabolism and detoxification, cell cycle and apoptosis, drug transporter and membrane receptor were associated with response to platinum-based chemotherapy.In this review, the recent progress of pharmaco-genomics of platinum chemotherapy in NSCLC was systematically summarized, and also the possibility of establishing a pharmacogenomics model for accurately predicting platinum-based chemotherapy efficacy of NSCLC patients will be discussed.
